Picture of the Week - 04/12/09 - 04/26/09 #58

It is my pleasure to be hosting POTW this time around.
So I hope everybody gets on board with the favourite shots.

Rules as before:

1) No theme just your favorite stuff.
2) Let's keep it to about 4-6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week .
3) Any Pentax camera is fine, film, P&S, DSLR (or Samsung DSLR)
4) Date : Sunday 04/05/09- Sunday 04/19/09
5) Enter anything you shot last week or this current week until the thread closes.

Here a couple from me to get the ball rolling:

1. Fungii

2. Kookaburra

3. Roses

I know, they are nothing really special, but with all the rain we have been experiencing, I haven't really got out there much

Bramela- I really like the way the roses stand out from the background-the color difference of the wet greenish-brownish background and the pink flowers make this picture nice and strong. I like it!

This is mine-weather changed-some wind and clouds arrived-and as the weather warms up some new boats appear

hey, Bruce, thanks for hosting!

Bruce, interesting Fungii, and I'm jealous of your roses

planedriver - I love small boats so your pictures are very pleasing to me

Jezza, nice pano with great light, I might crop the right hand side a bit

should be getting out later today with my family where I hope to get pictures
of flowers, my kids and my dog

Bruce thanks for hosting this week! I hope you mistyped the dates, and that the plan was to include also last week (as ever) instead of next week? Otherwise the pictures I want to post are out of date..... Nice shot of the Kookaburra!

Adrás - you got some wind! But still: the wether seems fine and....nem esik as esö! Nice pics, again!
Jezza - great cityscapes, I just love the last one.

Pear in full blossom

It has been a long time - several months - that I used my Pentax-M 28/3.5, so yesterday I decided to mount this lens to my body. Here are some of the results. Pear in full blossom...

Bruce thanks for hosting this week. Nice series. I like the roses and yeah don't you hate it when the weather does not co-operate ?

Planedriver - you and boats and water get along so well. I like the ripples in water well done.

jezza323 - wow love that panorama and the second shot is good as well.

here are a few from me from the last shoot - plan to get out today for some fresh ones

Resne - you and I were posting at the same time - lovely blossoms ! I am still weeks away from that .....

Ahh the familiar Canadian Goose yet again

My first cemetary shots - I would like to go some others and try just need to figure out who to ask permission I think the BW works better for these shots

Ah Dave, our posts crossed.... Nice B&W's you have there! I like shooting on graveyards somehow, and I agree: most of the time B&W works very well in these surroundings. It gives you some sense of tranquility and timelessness (is that an English word????)

Great shots again just in one day. But shouldn't this thread's timespan be actually something like 04/13/09-04/26/09, so that it lasts one week but including the previous, overlapping the previous POWT with one week?

Thank for hosting Bruce,
I found a willing Heron at dawn this AM, it was cloudy and dark though so I had to shoot at 1600 iso wide open at f4 with a sigma 100-300mm and my k20d.

Rense - thanks for the comments and yep you noticed the wrong dates first !

Tom - those are very good at ISO 1600 - nice series.

Well the wife had a Candel Party for a friend so of course I left in a hurry and went for a walkabout. Still pretty drab - no colors but soon.

borno-look at the head of the one captured mid-air-that's a real good shot
daacon-i really like the"elderly gentleman enjoying.." picture-real life captured in a very pleasent way.
