Welcome to Picture of the Week 06/01/09 - 06/14/09 #65

Another great POTW last week. Lots of participation and some excellent images. Nice to see everyone's stuff and so many of you willing to share. Doesn't matter if it's a snap shot of the kids or a masterpiece that will make you famous. We wanna see what's been in your viewfinder.

You can see last weeks POTW here.

All of the past POTW's are now linked below under the name of the host. So it's easy to go back and view some past weeks.
[/B]
Rules as before:

1) No theme just your favorite stuff.
2) Let's keep it to about 4-6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week.
3) Any Pentax camera is fine, film, P&S, DSLR (or Samsung DSLR)
4) Date : Sunday 05/24/09 to Sunday 06/07/09. Enter anything you shot last week or during this current week until the thread closes.

So to get things started. All I have so far is some shots from yesterday at my step son's 5Km road race. His teacher is big on getting the kids active and had a weekly exercise program (games like Basketball and Rugby) each week and finished off with this road race.

So a few from the run:
First my step son:

Next all the sneakers at the start

Finally a Hog parked to the side of the road.

Everything was shot with the FA*300mm and I was really happy with how it tracked and focused on the K10D. Short FL shots were done with the Sigma 105mm macro (the Harley) One fine and sharp lens.

The best shots (there were over 200) have been submitted to the local paper and we'll see if they publish the shots and article.

So many great photos this week. Off umpiring some baseball games and have had little time to use the camera. Just to show I do take pictures of more than my kids playing sports here is one sun beam and a flower waiting to appear.

Rense - sweet Gull shot - nice perspective on that one - hopefully he did not drop anything unexpected on ya

Mike - nice capture of the 'busy as a bee' - maybe a little soft but in focus.

Rick - Chili cookoff man hope there were no open flames That hat and smile are indeed unique.

Light Horseman - that is a cool shot I like it - would make a great print.

Scott - haha nothingn wrong with taking shots of your kids I suspect that is what 90% of us parents have done cause soon they will grow up and not be quite as accessible - Nice shots I quie like the church maybe clone or crop that light ppole out of there.

Jim - I saw some of that shoot in PYP section well done. By the way did I mention I use to be a lifeguard in case you need someone for the next model shoot you know just to make sure all is safe

Something you probably won't recognize right off the bat and most probably won't know what these are.

Japanese Rice Crackers ("senbei") of varying flavors.

These were all using the DA*50-135 on the K20D at 4OO ASA
Some cropping, minimal PP from RAW in LR with LR2Mogrify for borders

Geez, I have a busy week and you all just go wild with great shots. There's too many for me to comment on but great stuff everyone!. Only out with the camera a couple of times this week. Gotta love tha weather sealed body and lens combo. K20D and DA*16-50mm in a mild rain. I spotted this old farm at the end of my work day.

It's a double exposure soft focused.
