Welcome to Picture of the Week 06/01/09 - 06/14/09 #65

Another great POTW last week. Lots of participation and some excellent images. Nice to see everyone's stuff and so many of you willing to share. Doesn't matter if it's a snap shot of the kids or a masterpiece that will make you famous. We wanna see what's been in your viewfinder.

You can see last weeks POTW here.

All of the past POTW's are now linked below under the name of the host. So it's easy to go back and view some past weeks.
[/B]
Rules as before:

1) No theme just your favorite stuff.
2) Let's keep it to about 4-6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week.
3) Any Pentax camera is fine, film, P&S, DSLR (or Samsung DSLR)
4) Date : Sunday 05/24/09 to Sunday 06/07/09. Enter anything you shot last week or during this current week until the thread closes.

So to get things started. All I have so far is some shots from yesterday at my step son's 5Km road race. His teacher is big on getting the kids active and had a weekly exercise program (games like Basketball and Rugby) each week and finished off with this road race.

So a few from the run:
First my step son:

Next all the sneakers at the start

Finally a Hog parked to the side of the road.

Everything was shot with the FA*300mm and I was really happy with how it tracked and focused on the K10D. Short FL shots were done with the Sigma 105mm macro (the Harley) One fine and sharp lens.

The best shots (there were over 200) have been submitted to the local paper and we'll see if they publish the shots and article.

Peter thanks for being the host again and for POTW in general! For once I am getting in at the start of things

I like the shot of your step son running, great to see kids active

I have been taking lots of pictures at my son's baseball games and having fun doing it, every now and then I manage to get a good shot

here's an example from yesterday, #14 on my son's team has just successfully stolen home on a passed ball:

Columbine

This columbine is in our back yard.

I'd like to do a bit more work on the background in either iPhoto or Photoshop Elements.

K100D, SMC Pentax 1:4/100, f/32, aperture priority, ISO 200, daylight white balance, tripod-mounted; black fabric background; photographed in late afternoon.

My usual morning walk, turned out to be a walk in a rather dense fog.
(Dave : its working well, took your advice and am losing weight well. Thanks for the incentive)

#I only carry a small P&S camera on my early walk, hence lower quality.

Four city shots: Bucharest (Romania), at and near Romana Square. Again, K200D and Pentax 18-250mm.

Thank you Peter for hosting again after a great last POTW.

Many beautiful pictures already today since I looked in briefly this morning!

I actually had more time this weekend, so here are a few and I'll put more up later.

Out fishing with the kids: couldn't resist this one...

Some very nice stuff so far. I'll comment tomorrow but wanted to welcome niklas to both the forums and this thread. Very nice work. I'm not sure what the answer to the question is. I guess there' just more information about the flash settings in the EXIF.

2 from today.
