Weekly challenge #100-still life
Ok so the challenge is still life and any way you'd like to interpret that. It could be a macro taken indoors at the kitchen table, something done outside that you set up. Generally a still life shot is meant to be a set up shot, were as most of the rest of photography is recording something we observe. So this is you using your imagination to create your own shot.

I'll look for ideas for a creative idea and good use of the light. Below is an example and that's been heavily altered to create a mood. The second has not Post processed at all. But your shot doesn't need any photoshop if that's how you want it.

The closing day will be midnight the 27th June. I'll announce the winners on the 28th

The rules are as follows...

1. Post ONE photo (max 1000x1000).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme. It can be color or B&W, your choice.
3. Post your single picture in this thread, and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and chose 1 of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus a day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax camera will do or a Samsung DSLR.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.

After Party

So, like most of you, I woke up this morning and the first I think I did was check the pentaxforum boards... After a nice night of takeout food and wine (and Mojitos) I feel like life is pretty still in my apt right now... So this is appropriate.

a little different take on still life , While my wife was recovering from surgery a couple months back I set this table and chair for her to sit , gave her a camera and let her play in the yard for a while every day.

I'm not really one to set up still-life shots (although I do set up lots of other kinds, like portraits), so this one was just photographed "as is." These were found at a used book store in Micanopy, Florida:

don't try and bite!

Wow- quite amazing shots already in this thread! Love the book shot- what a great feeling and sense of antiquity.

Here's my humble submission- some venetian glass "bon bons" at our good friends apartment. Set this up to use complete backlighting, with another venetian glass goblet as the backdrop.

Tamron SP 90mm f/2.5 adaptall-2, shot at f/3.5.

Edit: Shoot, too late, I guess? Submitted this at 1:40am on the 28th... Sorry, Peter!
