Welcome to Picture of the Week 06/14/09 - 06/28/09 #67

It was a resounding success last week as well as the week before and before that and (well you get the idea I will not repeat this 66 times )

You can see last weeks POTW Here.

All of the past POTW's are now linked below under the name of the host. So it's easy to go back and view some past weeks. (Thanks to Peter Zach for getting this started)

Rules as before:

1) No theme just your favorite stuff.
2) Let's keep it to about 4-6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week.
3) Any Pentax camera is fine, film, P&S, DSLR (or Samsung DSLR)
4) Date : Sunday 06/14/09 to Sunday 06/28/09. Enter anything you shot last week or during this current week until the thread closes.

THis little guy was not too bothered by me at all seemed way more interested in the bird seed and peanuts my dad puts out for him.

My dad also got a new little friend a few weeks ago.

Sitting in the shade with the DA* 16-50 on this is the best humming bird shot I got - I had no warning he showed up and then took off

And in honor of Father's day here is my father

My little girls first "real" soccer game. Some shots of her mixing it up. She had a rainy game also, almost scored on the last photo, goalie stopped it.

Daacon -- thanks for hosting. Nice animal/bird shots. those birds show up at the most inopportune times don't they.
eccs19 -- nice shot. Looks like the corn is growing well
jezza323 -- You nailed all four shots. BW works very well

Dave - Thanks for hosting again, Happy Father's Day
Jezza - BW conversions with ominous sky look almost spooky
Scot -Soccer at this time of year up there? We're wrapping up baseball now Allstar teams only ones still playing Just gets too hot in mid Summer here. You do good sports shots.
ECCS19 - Cool farm shot.
Richit- nice city scapes , lets see some more historic LI shots.

Lets get small!
A few from while I was waiting for a guy at the trailer ramp .Put the Tamron 35-80 through it's macro paces. I love this old lens ! These pictures are all pretty heavily cropped .

eccs19 - I really like the framing and colors on that one - well done. That is a big farm.

jezza323 - I love the BW ones very dramatic a good choice. Nice DOF on the flower as well.

Scott - thanks for the comments - yeah the humming birds come and go as they please for sure. Nice soccer shots. I love the expression of your daughter on the second one and last one intense !

Richit - the first one is a little overdone for me but I do like the second one. Great street shot.

seacapt - no problem anyone can host so if you find no new thread on a Sunday afternoon just start one. Nice macros , that spider is excellent.

oche - nice framing good colors. A fine shot.

Good start all

I went to my dad's place on Saturday. We went for a little walk down by the lake. The water is very low and the algae was plentiful. Had the Bigma with me but not too much action so here is what I did manage.

These cattle were accross the lake this is at 500mm. It is illegal to allow the catle access to the lake like this.

One of the lake side cabins that looks to be under repair

Here is a bridge going over the lake

Another view of the lake and all the clouds on what for the most part was a sunny partly cloudy day.

Thanks for the comments. A couple more from the same day.
Dave - The last shot with the chairs on the dock, I think with some cropping you could do something special.

Nice photos everyone!

Scott - love kids soccer photos, the right balance of fun and intensity in those faces!

It's very hot and humid here in the Midwest and I have decided to stay in the AC this week, but I did get a nice shot this weekend in bad barn lighting that I liked:

Lot's of rain here in Central Europe I decided to do some research work on my high ISO capabilities of my K200D-this is on the agenda again as the K7 is about to arrive

first shot F35-105 f4-5.6 not a very fast lens but sharp enough in this case macro setting at 105mm f5.6 1/8 iso 1600 hand held: (my Erika's Canon)

for the second one I changed lenses-this time the FA50 f1.4 with aperture set to 2.0, 1/30 iso 1600 (my beloved one's Canon and the previously used lens):

but as you can see I don't take these experiments too seriously(another iso1600 f2 1/60)
