Picture of The Week : 06/21/09-07/04/09 #68
Posted By: Bramela, 06-28-2009, 01:24 PM

I thought I would take up the running this week.

The past few weeks have been a great success with high volume of top class shots.
Lets keep it going folks.

Last week's POTW

Thanks Dave for another very successful thread past week.

I purchased a new K20d this week, so as soon as it arrives it looks like I better get some results up for viewing!!

All of the past POTW's are now linked below under the name of the host. So it's easy to go back and view some past weeks.

Rules as before:

1) No theme just your favorite stuff.
2) Let's keep it to about 4-6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week.
3) Any Pentax camera is fine, film, P&S, DSLR (or Samsung DSLR)
4) Date : Sunday 06/14/09 to Sunday 06/28/09. Enter anything you shot last week or during this current week until the thread closes.

Here's hoping everybody had a safe and happy 4th of July.

Great shot of the stars and stripes m80.

My contribution has nothing to do with the 4th of July, I had to babysit my son today who's complaining of headaches since yesterday. He seems to be fine now, he's playing around with his younger brother.

A Semipalmated Plover.

We have had such great weather and activities lately hardly been on this week - nice shots all. I have to get outside and enjoy what short summer we do get

Bruce - thanks for the comments. Indeed 'refreshments' at the 'refresment gardens' was a big a part of the activities as ball and beach were

Scott - thanks for the comments - that picture was actually taken by my friend. I have a few with ball coming off the bat will post some later. It was and always is a blast.

Kevin - very sharp marcros. Especially the wasp(s) ? Damsel and butterfly are good as well.

xjjohonno - bice seires nothing wrong with the nifty fifty but the great 28 is not so bad either. #2 and #3 make me hungry !

eccs19 - wonderful sharp colorful shot in #1 well done.

Scott- looks like a fun family time. Football in July must be hot. Nice shots of the kids.

m8o - very partriotic nice flag.

RollsUp - Nice Bird shot very sharp.

Kevin - nice series my favorite are the middle two water shots. Do you use a ND filter ? I have some comming soon (I hope).

Light Horseman - Nice butterly and great water shot.

xjjohnno - again good bird shot. Wow that is a loud chevy almost looks like a hearse.

Well, I have to say the standard this time has been brilliant. Some of the shots are just superb.
We must all be improving in our photography in great strides. Good to see.

M80 : Top shot and very patriotic as well.
Rollsup : that is a superb bird shot. Very well done!
Kevin : 4 great shots as well. I like the water shots particularly.
LightH : Love the macro of the butterfly, very well taken. The moving water has a great effect as well.
Johnno : Corellas can do a lot of damage I believe, to cables etc. We dont see them here. Magpie shot is interesting, they can become so friendly/ or at nesting time NOT. One very hot vehicle that. Well done.
Dave : some real action, well caught. A good time was had by all, no doubt.

Thanks again and very well done, all

No, but I used a circular polarizer. By the way, two linear polarizers (or one linear/one circular) stacked give an infinitely variable ND with polarization possibility as well. Two circulars with same direction do not work unless one is reversed.

I have used that before, but did not have them with me.)
