PROJECT 52-2-06 Architecture: Stairs
Posted By: mithrandir, 08-06-2009, 07:17 PM

Our Assignment for Week 6 looks at stairs. We encounter them everyday. Now we will tackle them photographically.
(Pictures to be taken and posted between 20090809 and 20090816).
Rules:
1. Anyone and everyone who is interested in eligible. The goal continues to be
have fun and share comments, concepts, insights, and techniques with fellow
Pentaxians.
2. Each week will feature a Theme and Sub-concept for you to explore.
3. Post your single picture in Project 52-2 thread for the week. Explain what
motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly
theme.
4. Some post-processing is OK (adjusting white balance, exposure, color
saturation), but let's try to stay away from heavily PP'ed images here. Try to
keep the creativity to photographic techniques and the captures themselves.
5. There is one “Theme Concept” labeled “black and white,” but feel free to post
black and white, sepia, monotone, etc., for any of the other themes.
6. The picture you post should be taken during the week in which the theme is
active to be eligible for judging.
7. Any picture taken from 20090705 to listed closing date is acceptable for the
two “Seasonal” competitions – Projects 52-2-51 & 52.

Elliptical

This one is not eligible for judging, as it was taken in 2007 but I thought it might be a nice starter for this thread.

DS, DA18-55, f6.7, ISO 1600, 1/90 sec.

That's a great shot Tim!
Unnfortunately I won't beable to take a part in this one as I won't have day off that week. But I may post some "inspirational" shot later on.

Thanks Peter. It turned out way better than I envisioned.

Great stuff Tima & sheela,

I also don't have much chance to get out & shoot, but have one recent one to contribute:
A stairfall... hope that counts as stairs...

guys, I had the theme in mind that day, saw it posted for some time by mithrandir and I thought its already running. in fact its funny, I went out with the idea to shoot for the other theme, first thing, architecture - interiors(there were the last days of posting for that one) but not the slightest chance to get a decent one, instead I did see only "stairs" :-) here's another one, for the fun(and not for judging ), from that day. shot at the entrance of a gipsy building

I have 3 days off starting today so I'm thinking to post something else, within the timeframe

tim: that picture is very interesting, it has a surreal look
ash: a nice one, I have shot a stairfall this weekend as well but not as nice as yours (and besides mine was not that big)

not for judging, Dan :-) none of them is. as I said, I will go out and shoot and post an entry for judging within the timeframe. Sorry for the "extra" posting of pic, just wanted to show what else I found (like kids bragging about.. ) and specified it was not for judging. if needed, I will erase it from the post, please let me know

considering you shot that first pic with the 'stairs' theme in mind just one day prior to the theme becoming active...i'm totally willing to call it judgable (is that word?). But, it's ulimately up to you.
