Picture of the Week - 08/02/2009 - 08/16/2009: Everybody join in!
Posted By: Rense, 08-09-2009, 04:15 AM

Welcome to Picture of the Week 08/02/09 - 08/16/09 #74

Another week started over here, and just to prevent that yesterdays pics become lost in the tail of last weeks POTW, here's another one, brand new, with new opportunitie .

Thanks AOski for hosting last weeks POTW, the thread can be found here.

Once again same rules and really other than time frames there are no rules

1) No theme just your favorite stuff.
2) Let's keep it to about 4-6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week.
3) Any Pentax camera is fine, film, P&S, DSLR (or Samsung DSLR)
4) Date : Sunday 08/02/09 to Sunday 08/16/09. Enter anything you shot last week or during this current week until the thread closes.

Mecrox, welcome to POTW! It's always nice to have new people joining this thread!
That is a nice close up with the DA 70! I have that lens myself, but never tried it butterflies and such. Seeing yours, I have to try it too!!

Thank you for the comments Rense!

Here's a quick sunset shot from last night, not overly dramatic but it was a decent one for a change.

Just found this thread and thought I'd join up with my contribution. I went to a wedding reception with the wrong lens and it was too dark to take any shots, other than this fruit basket at the hotel lobby where there was enough light.

Hi Folks, Been a while for me . I've been in crisis mode with work for the past few weeks 60-70 hrs per so not much time to play. Here are a few test shots with an ultra cheap M42 that recently I bought and will soon sell. Last shot was a dragonfly that sat next to me while I was changing back to my regular lens. Will try to post some better stuff as time permits
Rense - Thanks for hosting
Everyone - Thanks for posting!

Got my 500mm mirror yesterday, so took it out for a test drive. It's not as sharp as my other lenses, but I know I'm going to have fun with the long reach. Here are a few I took. WARNING!!! MORE BIRDS AND FLOWERS!!!

I have for a change not gone out much and shot this week. We have ball playoffs and some general summer activities and work has been busy.

I am planing a weekend get away to the mountians end of the month for some White Water Rafting so should have a few pics then.

Kevin - thanks for the comments. Great shots of the Heron - sometimes it just takes being there at the right time. You must of been pretty close.

Andras - love the colors on the last one. he 16-45 is a stellar lens.

JanVan - interesting Fungi , good colors, is that a water drop in the second one ? Good shot of the frog.

Rense - thanks for the comments. You sure have been praticing the Macro world and it shows.

eccs19 - nice flowers. I like the DOF on the second one.

RollsUp - nice series. Beuatiful Landscape. The little girl looks ready for winter! Great looking pup there as well.

jmc7104 - Those are great hummer shots through glass well done.

jezza323 - ahh I love water shots. Good timing on #1 . Nice senset as well. Good series on the bridges. The BW works well.

Venturi - nice Ballons. I like the moon still in the background. And Chrome and Metal are amoung my favorites as well.

Tom - nice Heron shots. The backlight sunset one is my favorite.

Virgilr - welcome back. Hope all works out for you. Nice series , hopefully you can find some relief from shooting.

Alan - best of luck with the gigs. I like the soft look of these shots. Well done.

MacGirl - I hear ya only one for me this week ! Nice horses. And wow your luck is about to change with that 4 leaf clover.

Reeftool - that Heron was doing their best to hide , you captured it well.

Rense - wow that could be the star of a 1960s Japanese Horror film Godzilla vs the Bee ! Great shot.

Frank - nice weed - yellow is hard to expose that looks good.

Scott - you found an older King Arthur ! Where is Excaliber ? Looks like a fun gig , well done.

Rense - sharp lens that 50 1.7 I have one , and just don;t use it very oftern. Well done.

Frank - love the colors of the houses and the hills. Some landmark builidngs there, nice series.

seacpt - all work and no play haha but no work usually means no play so I understand. Good seires, that last dragon fly is very good.

eccs19 - a 500 mirror lens otta give ya some working room , congrats. Love the second one.

AAA baseball, Pacific Coast League, Nashville Sounds (Brewers) vs Salt Lake Bees (Angels).

These are all crops - the 18-250 wasn't quite long enough from where we were sitting.

1. Sean Rodriguez - Salt Lake Bees

2. Alcides Escobar - Nashville Sounds (just got called up to the Brewers today)

3. Run down!

4. Mat Gamel - Nashville Sounds
