Picture of the Week - 08/02/2009 - 08/16/2009: Everybody join in!
Posted By: Rense, 08-09-2009, 04:15 AM

Welcome to Picture of the Week 08/02/09 - 08/16/09 #74

Another week started over here, and just to prevent that yesterdays pics become lost in the tail of last weeks POTW, here's another one, brand new, with new opportunitie .

Thanks AOski for hosting last weeks POTW, the thread can be found here.

Once again same rules and really other than time frames there are no rules

1) No theme just your favorite stuff.
2) Let's keep it to about 4-6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week.
3) Any Pentax camera is fine, film, P&S, DSLR (or Samsung DSLR)
4) Date : Sunday 08/02/09 to Sunday 08/16/09. Enter anything you shot last week or during this current week until the thread closes.

Hello everyone I've been on holiday away from the computer during the last week or so but I'm back now with a glass of Rosé:

Good health!

Thanks for hosting Rense - we should probably get a list of people and make it a sticky - but so far the thread has kept alive so maybe do nothing ) Nice backyard shots. Hard to capture a full plate of food like that and now I am hungry

Andras - hope you had a good time , nice series on the Rose - looks very appealing.

A few more from me from a recent walkbout .

What I call the lost and confused Pelicans no idea why they hang around here , but I am glad they do.

Some sort of Loon I think .....

Thanks for hosting Rense.

We had a bit of a family gathering last weekend, so most of those shots were just snaps. This one is far from anything great, but more of a fun shot. Notice the timing of the ball throw, and where I got the shutter clicked? I'm just glad for my cousin that the ball was not actually where it looked.

Thanks for hosting, Rense. Nice pictures with the Tak, too. That food looks good!

Andras - nice to see you back. Nice cold wine there, too.

Dave - those are interesting pelicans, didn't know they were up that far!

Eccs19 - nice timing

I've been wandering round the local creek for a couple of years since I last saw a green heron without seeing them, and suddenly last time there were two!

Rense, thanks for hosting.
This thread is filling more and more pages every week; and with nice pictures… Andras' whine goes well with Renses food and a lot of birds again.
Since they keep flying away and I haven’t succeeded in BIF-shots, I took more static objects in the local university-garden “Arboretum”: 2 of a fungus and a froggy one.

Kevin - wow, those green heron shots are great. I never understood why this creature was called GREEN heron, but your pics clear things up for me! Thanks for the comments!
Jan - I like your pics very much, that green frog is just great. I guess this one does not fly away ?

And some more macro pics from me. I was inspired by the pics made by Grzhoofr to make a flash tube for my macro lenses. It works fine, but my photos are not half as good as Grzhoofrs . Well, I guess I have to practice some more, and get me some decent 1:1 magnification lens or some longer macro glass.

A landscape from the side of a hill next to town.

A couple flowers.

A little girl. I didn't get enough time to frame this better.
