3) Any Pentax camera is fine, film, P&S, DSLR (or Samsung DSLR)
4) Date : Sunday 08/16/2009 to Sunday - Sunday 08/30/2009. Enter anything you shot last week or during this current week until the thread closes.

That's a lantana. I've got some growing in my backyard.

Me too, Frank, that's why I asked Dave about it. I have four different colors in my yard I planted this month. Two are already blooming. But I've never seen one with that many colors to one flower.

A couple of shots taken alongside the highway, driving up thru southern Wisconsin Monday. I stopped to look at the rocks (nice limestone), but saw these honeybees clustering around several spots where groundwater was seeping out of the rocks - drinking their fill, apparently.

Tom - you finally got a heron - that is a great BIF shot very sharp well done.

Frank - I love the first two very cool. And I see one was out looking for some wind shots - sure get a sense of wind on that one.

Photolady - You and Frank have indentified it. I am afraid my horticulture / botney skills leave me to say it's a purty one It was grown in the Muttart Conservatory so it had a controlled atmosphere and very good care.

Song_hm - 7 feet on a pogo impresseive indeed.

Kevin- nice captures of the Gold finches well done. And consider the time you had the hummer is a good one.

xjjoohono - nice blossoms I suppose spring is starting in your neck of the woods where as here things are slowing dieng

Javin - wonnderful shot - creamy bokeh as well.

Bruce - nice flowers and excellent macro of that disgusting fly

eccs19 - great moon shot - very detailed.

RonXDox - wow I don't believe I have ever seen bees comming out of a rock like that before - very cool.

Great week all lots of time left post away

We had a bit of a thunder bumper last night. So there I was firing off shots like a machine gun stretching the limits of my K20D buffer and SDHC card. I must of taken 200 shots trying to capture some lightening. Unfortuantley the storm came up suddenly and I had the Tammy 70-200 attached a bit long for this kind of effort. I gave up once the rain came.

This was was best I got - still my first ever lightening captures so I got room to improve. ISO 1600

Dave, that last one is great!! And I like the first one too. It's very sharp and that very thin tread in the sky is very nice. Well done!!

Last few from my time out last Sat. The spider below is a different variety than the one I posted earlier. This is locally refferred to as a writing spider. They weave a patch in the web which they usually hang out on. The patch is about 3-4 inches long and 1/2 inch wide resembling a label. Sometimes the weaving resembles letters. The "old wives tale" is that if you see your name written in this spider's web you won't be around to see next Summer.

Dave, Nice lightning shots!
Seacapt, Nice macros!
As I was heading out to my truck yesterday afternoon to go to work, I saw this youngster in the back yard. It was a quick back in the house and get the camera moment. He was still there and I got a few shots. Sigma 70-300.
