dopeytree: There is a thread recently posted about turning around when shooting sunsets. Apparently, that applies to band gigs as well.




Peter Zack and m80: Both non-traditional wedding shots that will bring back memories for years and years.

Peter's: Both the cousin and the bridesmaids will fondly remember this day with this capture.



m80: Everyone will remember what looks like a windy location.





3rd Place: Bramela - The theme of the event is self evident with the flag and the body language. Well spotted.





2nd Place: Leaf Fan - If you would have cropped some off the right to take your daughter off dead center, this would have been the winner. The body language is strong here also.





Winner: Ash - Very strong composition and a good capture under difficult lighting conditions. Congratulations.

With such a wide-angle shot, DoF is quite large even at f/8 with any subject more than about a metre away from the lens.

Congrats everybody and thanks for the 2nd place.

I really struggled and debated about the cropping, but in the end I decided that it was the wide open space around her that made me like it, because it made no sense for her to be standing in an empty field in her soccer uniform, and I felt it gave the picture tension, but the more I think about it I should have cropped, even just a little, to get her into one of the thirds locations.
