PROJECT 52-2-20 Lighting: Reflections
Posted By: mithrandir, 11-19-2009, 05:24 AM

Week 20's emphasis is on including reflections as a key component of the composition. Instead of avoiding reflections, we will embrace the stray light. Here are a couple of links to get the creative juices flowing:

Using Reflections in Architectural Photography: How to Shoot Architectural Digital Photos | eHow.com

CO - The Inside Light :: Photography Served

(Pictures for the week 20 competition are to be taken and posted between 20091122 AND 20091129).

NOTE: We have two Seasonal competitions planned for the last two weeks of year two. You may take pictures for these anytime between 20090705 and the posting dates of 20100704 or 20100711. This way you can include your favorite holiday or season whenever it occurs during the year.

Rules:
1. Anyone and everyone who is interested in eligible. The goal continues to be
have fun and share comments, concepts, insights, and techniques with fellow
Pentaxians.
2. Each week will feature a Theme and Sub-concept for you to explore.
3. Post your single picture in Project 52-2 thread for the week. Explain what
motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly
theme.
4. Some post-processing is OK (adjusting white balance, exposure, color
saturation), but let's try to stay away from heavily PP'ed images here. Try to
keep the creativity to photographic techniques and the captures themselves.
5. There is one “Theme Concept” labeled “black and white,” but feel free to post
black and white, sepia, monotone, etc., for any of the other themes.
6. The picture you post should be taken during the week in which the theme is
active to be eligible for judging.
7. Any picture taken from 20090705 to listed closing date is acceptable for the
two “Seasonal” competitions – Projects 52-2-51 & 52.

Sunday-evening and I just realised I still had to/wanted to make a photo for this week.
There are a glass of water and a phone on the table.... This is the result.

Wanted to add mine too. Just got back from Myrtle Beach, a first outing with my K20D and various lenses to a beach. This was shot with my Soligor 85-300mm at 300mm, handheld, MF, ISO 320, 1/320" in late afternoon sun. The receding water made a great reflection of this little sand piper, as if he just noticed himself.

Taking a Bite out of Ipods Profits

Here is my entry for this weeks challenge.
I would love to come up with a mp3 device that could rival Ipods..
Not my original idea I wanted to go with, but im sure it will suffice.
Enjoy

Thanks bluesman! When I went to PP I cropped to isolate the subject just a bit, and then looked to adjust the levels a bit, but I didn't like any versions where the whites were a bit whiter and contrast a little higher...it just didn't have the same feeling as when left alone. So, other than the crop, just the resize and a touch of sharpening after the resize.
