Weekly Challenge #118 – Minimalism

Weekly Challenge #118 – Minimalism

The challenge explained:
Minimalism is art that emphasizes simplification of form, as by the use of basic shapes and monochromatic palettes of colours, objectivity, and anonymity of style. I have been exploring minimalism when I can in my photos and trying to recognise which subjects benefit from this perspective. There are various interpretations of minimalism so I will be looking for photos that show a subject in basic form, yet still has an impact and/or is aesthetically pleasing.

Challenge Starts:
Now!

Challenge Ends:
Tuesday, Dec. 1st @ 11:59pm EST

Results:
Wednesday, Dec. 2nd

The fine print....
1. Post ONE photo (max 1000x1000).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread, and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and chose 1 of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus a day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax camera will do or a Samsung DSLR.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.

I guess this could qualify: I took it for this challenge. It is a close up of a Christmas tree light covered by a hazy glass and taken at 5.2 fps as it flickers, and i got the best exposure and cropped it heavy. The dents are the actual filaments of the bulb as it is fading......

Hello Everyone!

This is a landscape shot I took a few months ago-the countryside is very natural and rural there-still this picture looks very geometric .

I call this "self portrait".

Camera was on a tripod at the window when I noticed this shadow cast on the wall by the setting sun a few feet away. Ghosting is from the multiple panes of glass. I like it even if it kinda makes my eyes cross (I guess I like that).
Sweet! Kind of eerie-I like that.

Oh no. I just deleted that submission as it was rendered too dark from the original (that photo is in my gallery), intending to re-submit another of the same shot more in line with how the original appeared. sorry, I didn't want to leave this post of yours hanging w/o an explanation of why it's before the post you are replying to.

As before: I call this "self portrait".

U.S. Navy F/A-18 shot at the 2008 NAS Oceana Air Show. Just thought the vapor burst against the overcast sky looked pretty neat.
