Picture of the Week 90 : 16 Nov - 22 Dec. 6 2009
Posted By: Peter Zack, 11-29-2009, 06:34 PM

Well it's that time once more. Looking to see what's in your film canister or on the memory card this last week or the week coming.

Welcome to the picture of the week. Show us your best (and worst) stuff

Picture of the Week 90 : 16 Nov - 22 Dec. 6 2009

Nice stuff last week posted here and lets see some stuff from those new members and some who haven't posted in awhile.

Last week's POTW
Again same rules and really other than time frames there are no rules
1) No theme just your favorite stuff.
2) Let's keep it to about 4-6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week.
3) Any Pentax camera is fine, film, P&S, DSLR (or Samsung DSLR)
4) Date : Sunday Nov - 22 to Sunday - Sunday Dec - 6 2009. Enter anything you shot last week or during this current week until the thread closes.
Previous hosts: Each one is a hotlink to that POTW thread to look past at the previous 89 weeks.

Love the composition of the first, especially the apparent movement through the frame, not only with the river, but especially the yellow-orange trees leading the way.

Thanks! It was a dull day and I had to apply more post-processing than I usually would, but I too like results.

Some fine shots once again all. I was in Houston for a few days visiting family, Was a nice break from the winter blahs here , got to see some color again although it is still rather warm (relatively) here and little snow. Here are a few from the area.

Ash, all three are great but I love the grass shot. Perfect capture. Nice work.

jheu02 Nice series and the web looks good in this shot. Very nice flower image.

stevebrot Great spot to go shooting and I love these old bridges. They look so patchwork though and not too safe. Nicely captured, I like how it leads the eye off into the distance.

Dave, you becoming an arborist? Some very vibrant tree shots. I like that young palm in the first shot. Looks like nice weather (it snowed here today).

The bridge has actually just been given a thorough refurbishing! It is really quite sturdy, is constructed of heavy, solid wood beams, and can support things like dump trucks and large farm tractors.

haha yeah indeed a career change may be what I need ! It was cool for Texas weather but about 15 degrees warmer than where I live on average - we had a couple days in the low 20's so that was good. Not much snow here , weather is suppose take a turn for the worse here soon - ahhh the Joys of winter....

Indeed Andras I agree

We went to the Johnson Space Center in Texas. It was quite a place to see. Unfortunately it was a holiday so there were no astronauts training. Here are a few from the hanger where one of the early 'rockets' was on display. The boosters were increadibly large and if you look at the final picture that rocket took up the whole hanger to get a sense of scale. Was a really cool place. All that fuel and power to bring that little capsule at the top home wow.

Wow Dave, too many to comment on individually. Great stuff at the space center. I visited CC in Florida as a teenager and was suitably impressed as well. Those Saturn rockets are something else and it's hard to imagine being strapped to the top of that thing.

Plane driver has it right! Nice food/product shot Btw.

Hey anyone else using their cameras for photos? Or are you all just talking about them? Post up!!

Okay Peter, because you insist . I named this one "My First Air Plane Shot". Probably the National Theatre is somewhat distracting?

Brighten Your Winter Chills

For all you Northerners, coping with the cold of winter, perhaps these might make your chilly fingers feel a little warmer.

From my garden at the moment.
