WINNERS - Weekly Challenge #118 - Minimalism
Posted By: Light_Horseman, 12-02-2009, 08:21 AM

I am really impressed with the turn out for this weeks challenge. Any picture could be chosen as the winner and the choice was very difficult. The variety in subjects and how the theme has been interpreted is inspiring. I have found aspects in each photo that has made me look differently at how this style of picture taking can be approached and how the participants have seen their subject.

The pictures that struck me the most as fitting the theme are;

Winner: wllm

This picture was minimal in shapes, line and colour but screams interesting. The concentric lines, fading to smooth bokeh all in shades of red without being at all busy makes it No. 1. I could easily see this on the wall of a modern coffee shop etc.

2nd: Plankton

The first entry and so very close to my first choice. Monotone, simple yet highly recognisable subject and no distractions to the eye. A great background for a business card.

3rd: ohce

Again, simple lines, shapes an colours, but all with character and a pleasing appeal. You could theme a Chinese restaurant around that picture.

Congratulations to the winners and all on the outstanding entries with a theme that I tried to make a little different.

Congratulations to the three winners. Nice shots and nice work all. These are kind of fun. I'm not sure why I never played before. Good job on this on Light Horseman.

Thanks a lot for the congrats, and especially Light Horseman for me choosing me, I'm very honered, there were some very strong opponents.
I am relatively new here, so I guess that I choose a new subject for the Weekly Challenge a.s.a.p.?
And yes it's a capsule for a wine bottle.

Willem

Yes that's it wllm, Just copy and paste the instructions that are the same from the previous challenge. Update and create a title and pick a theme with your own rules. Post the thread and wait for the photos
