Hi everyone!

This picture was taken on the 2nd day of my owning my K100D in March of this year. Figured I'd go get a nice sunset shot, but I really felt like I lucked out with the cloud formations. Too bad the birds circling in the clouds aren't really visible at 800x536.

Shot at a local park named the Tourne, I used my kit lens @ 26mm, f/8, 1/180, at ISO200 -- with a tripod. The Tourne has a bunch of hiking trails. The shot was taken at the "Top of the Tourne", which isn't _that_ high, but it provides a 30 mile view east or west.

Thanks everyone for participating in the weekly contests. Your contributions have really inspired my photography!

-Chris

Something about your picture Randy brings out this feeling and emotion as a kid, well when I was 11 to say 17 visiting my grandparents every summer. I loved the sunsets on the horizon, even though the far off distance was only spruce trees. The colors and type of clouds in the sky are the same. For me it was somewhat depressing as each sunset was a day closer to the end of summer and going back to school. I would spend on occasion an hour a nite watching the sun set wishing it would never end or just remember the times spent outside either fishing, just walking on trails, the beach or building our cabin and it slowly getting dark outside. I always wanted to capture those images with a good camera but never was able until now.
