Picture of the week #93: Dec. 13-Dec 27
Posted By: reeftool, 12-20-2009, 05:30 AM

Stevebrot passed the baton to me for this week. Like Steve, I have posted to this thread often but never have hosted. I hope everyone has has had their cameras out and been shooting away!

Picture of the Week 92 : 13 Dec - 27 Dec 2009

This is a favorite thread for most of us. With Christmas upon us it's going to be nice to see the Holiday traditions from around the world. Also that record snowstorm along the East Coast of the US should have a lot of cameras going.

Again same rules and really other than time frames there are no rules
1) No theme just your favorite stuff.
2) Let's keep it to about 4-6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week.
3) Any Pentax camera is fine, film, P&S, DSLR (or Samsung DSLR)
4) Date : Sunday, 6 Dec 2009 to Sunday, 20 Dec 2009. Enter anything you shot last week or during this current week until the thread closes.
5) The current host will appoint the new host as an invitation via PM. If possible, the new thread will be linked to the previous one and the new thread will start between 12:00EST and 5PM EST on the Sunday. If the thread doesn't start, please contact Peter Zack, Moderator.

Previous hosts: Each one is a hotlink to that POTW thread to look past at the previous 91 weeks.

Be careful on the roads folks or something worse then this might happen. No injuries but some folk having to hoof it for the rest of the holiday period due to broken vehicles.

xjjohnno - good capture of that accident. Glad nobody was hurt.

jezza323 - very good B&W's and the 2 portraits are stunning.

xs400 - good macro's of the flowers.

Plankton - Some nice looking desserts there. We ate some boxed pies from the supermarket. None of us claim to be cooks, it's safer that way.

A very wintery theme this week. Nice stuff everyone.

Only a couple shots from me. I fully intend to get out and capture some of the Christmas lights before they get turned off for another year.

Just spotted this stream on a short hike and didn't have a tripod. Had the Vivitar 19-35mm on which was for sale but I've decided to keep.

Along the same area. Somehow I think this could be a fun Christmas card. I plan to return here in the depth of winter with more snow and also in spring when the river is higher.

Playing with new toys

My favorite tradition...playing with new toys which in this case is a new(to me) k10d. Here are a few of my first DSLR photos and really the first that I have ever taken with anything better than a point and shoot....
