The New Years POTW is here

thanks for reeftool for asking me to host

Picture of the Week 94 : 27 Dec 2009 - 3 Jan 2010

I look forward to seeing all of the New Years celebration photos, lets make this a big week!

Again same rules and really other than time frames there are no rules
1) No theme just your favorite stuff.
2) Let's keep it to about 4-6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week.
3) Any Pentax camera is fine, film, P&S, DSLR (or Samsung DSLR)
4) Date : Sunday, 13 Dec 2009 to Sunday, 3 Jan 2010. Enter anything you shot last week or during this current week until the thread closes.
5) The current host will appoint the new host as an invitation via PM. If possible, the new thread will be linked to the previous one and the new thread will start between 12:00EST and 5PM EST on the Sunday. If the thread doesn't start, please contact Peter Zack, Moderator.

Previous hosts: Each one is a hotlink to that POTW thread to look past at the previous 94 weeks.

Thanks for hosting jezza323 that is one green frog nice shots.

Foster - whatever that is , it looks HUGE !

Here are a few shots from where we went Christmas Day. It's a little known lake out by Onaway for those that know the area.

Click on image for larger view (sorry about the power lines whatca gonna do ? I have others from the lake I will show later with no power lines)

As you come in

This was on Boxing day (26th) the dog and I going out for a stroll

An early morning shot down the street

"The Lodge" - brother in law's cabin - named El Rancho Costa Plenty as it is a beautiful log cabin that is nicer than most people's home - it's a great place to spend Christmas. The garage holds 3 snowmobiles and 2 quads we went out after and it was so much fun. A nice side effect of all the recent snow.

Looks like a heatwave, Dave

Another Christmas day photo. Clouds building up over the Pacific Ocean looking across the Broadwater at Runaway Bay, QLD. Holiday snapshot taken from the balcony of my MiL's apartment. I'm using a borrowed laptop and I have no great hopes for the quality.

Some nice work and I'll comment later. Although I really like the shot Ash posted from the back of the flower. Great idea and sharp as a tack!

Just one from me at the moment. It's been too long since I've had something to post. This wasn't planned and I was scouting a few locations for a New Years Eve wedding. Plus wanted to test some shooting gloves that seem to work well.*

The wind died and of course no tripod. I'm really happy how this turned out with the high ISO. The black sky is clean and jet black without noise software.

Very Typical house style in PEI. I would have liked to get closer but forgot my "walkin' on water" boots.
K20D FA50mm f1.4 @
1/20th f2.5 and ISO 1600 in Manual mode and hand held.

* they better as the forecast is for -10C (and a -19C windchill) the day of the wedding and they have a sleigh ride planned and my hands get cold fast. Btw, they are motocross gloves that are form fitting and one size too big so I wear a thin wool glove underneath and that dual layer seems to do the job while still leaving very good finger tip feel.
