Picture of the Week 97: January 10 - Januay 24. Let's get to 100!!
Posted By: Rense, 01-17-2010, 04:10 AM

Welcome to this 97th edition of the PotW. Start is a little early, but since Iris invited me to host, and I can find some time now, I thought this would be okay.

We've seen a great 96th version, thanks to Iris as hostess. She invited all new members of this forum in the Welcome section. I'm planning to do the same this week. Iris, thanks for hosting, you did a great job! And thanks for asking me to host this weeks PotW!

Picture of the Week 97: January 10, 2010 to January 24, 2010.
Let's try to get more posts this week than last week. I would say a hundred is a nice number.
A special welcome to all new members: feel free to post your shots from this week and last week!

Again same rules and really other than time frames there are no rules
1) No theme just your favorite stuff.
2) Let's keep it to about 4-6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week.
3) Any Pentax camera is fine, film, P&S, DSLR (or Samsung DSLR)
4) Date: Sunday Jan 10 2010 to Sunday Jan 24 2010. Enter anything you shot last week or during this current week until the thread closes.
5) The current host will appoint the new host as an invitation via PM. If possible, the new thread will be linked to the previous one and the new thread will start between 12:00EST and 5PM EST on the Sunday. If the thread doesn't start, please contact Peter Zack, Moderator.

Previous hosts: Each one is a hotlink to that POTW thread to look past at the previous 94 weeks.

Indeed, best friends.

Tom - great shot, is that one of those old 'rader boats' (don't know the exact English term )? Nice to see you here again! Feel welcome to post more !
Thanks Rense, I'm not sure what the boat is exactly, in the shot. It is some kind of replica paddlewheel boat. They take groups around sometimes for sightseeing (more like drinking). I miss posting in POTW but while I usually have my pentax with me ,I have been using my canon alot because I got a new lens for it recently. Unfortunately my 40d just got the dreaded ERR99 so I will have to send it in and break out the only long lens I have left for my pentax, the tamron adaptall 80-200mm f2.8 (wish I could have kept the DA300mm)

Ha! we did get a break and alot of the ice melted last week, But it has been pretty brutal here in maryland for us. I really would love to move south, but have to wait for a few more years.

There's no snow where I live, and my kids are grown and in college, so I go for a lot of walks near my home. Here is where I walked today. We've had rain lately, so the trail was a little muddy.

Man, I haven't seen snow for 11 years, and the strong sun here means shooting with 12-o-clock ugly light (save for dawns/dusks) for the most part of the day.
Just pack the snowman and mail it over here!!!
