Picture of the Week 97: January 10 - Januay 24. Let's get to 100!!
Posted By: Rense, 01-17-2010, 04:10 AM

Welcome to this 97th edition of the PotW. Start is a little early, but since Iris invited me to host, and I can find some time now, I thought this would be okay.

We've seen a great 96th version, thanks to Iris as hostess. She invited all new members of this forum in the Welcome section. I'm planning to do the same this week. Iris, thanks for hosting, you did a great job! And thanks for asking me to host this weeks PotW!

Picture of the Week 97: January 10, 2010 to January 24, 2010.
Let's try to get more posts this week than last week. I would say a hundred is a nice number.
A special welcome to all new members: feel free to post your shots from this week and last week!

Again same rules and really other than time frames there are no rules
1) No theme just your favorite stuff.
2) Let's keep it to about 4-6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week.
3) Any Pentax camera is fine, film, P&S, DSLR (or Samsung DSLR)
4) Date: Sunday Jan 10 2010 to Sunday Jan 24 2010. Enter anything you shot last week or during this current week until the thread closes.
5) The current host will appoint the new host as an invitation via PM. If possible, the new thread will be linked to the previous one and the new thread will start between 12:00EST and 5PM EST on the Sunday. If the thread doesn't start, please contact Peter Zack, Moderator.

Previous hosts: Each one is a hotlink to that POTW thread to look past at the previous 94 weeks.

Nice pics...it looks like you got a good copy of the J-9. You are going to really like that lens!

Great start!

Jezza - nice series. As Steve said, you've got a nice copy, for sure! I've got a J-9 myself, but I rarely use it, and I don't know why..... Probably I will take mine out this week (thanks to you)!
Tom - great shot, is that one of those old 'rader boats' (don't know the exact English term )? Nice to see you here again! Feel welcome to post more !
Frank - you're bringing spring in my room, thanks a lot! Are the daffodils really in flower where you are???
Jeff - makes me hungry, well done. But I don't see Jim, probably you'd take longer glass next time

Some time ago, I bought a Vivitar 28/2, after reading lots of good words on that lens, especially from Robin (rparmar). However, my copy had oily blades, so I did not use it really. Today I cleaned it - it was a hell of a job, especially re-assembling the #*$&#*&@#*$@&#$^@#& lens - and took it out. Although I did something wrong (the lens can focus far beyond infinity and only 2 foot at near distance instead of 1), it's perfectly usable. Tonight I will try to do a better job fixing it, but for now, here are some first photos with this lens. Only snaps, nothing special, but probably you understand now why I want to do a better job... (And sorry for the long unreadable introduction...)

This is just wrong. I am sitting up here in the gray, grim, sodden north and Frank is posting pics of daffodils!

András - nice boat shots again! I prefer the colour version over the B&W!
Dave - beautiful, the coloured one as well as the B&W. Seems you have nice wheather over there!
Ash - I love the one of the two young ladies! Your daughter and a friend, I suppose?
Alex - don't pick favourites, post them all Nice diversity, I like them. And you did a nice job in the B&W conversion!!
