Weekly Challenge #22 - Natural Lighting Portraits
Lets see those shots

Quick UPDATE : Just to clarify ?

Natural light is outside light. Your photos can be taken inside or outside taken by window blinds to softern the light or in shade etc etc.. as long as the source is natural and not man made ie: FLASH or studio lighting. I am looking for the the best use of natural light.

Hope this is clear

Pete

Really didn't know which picture of my son to pick, none of them are great photos but all of them mean so much to me. I think this one is my favourite or at least it is today.
Here is the techy stuff,
Focal Length: 68.0mm (35mm equivalent: 102mm)
Exposure time: 0.0080 s (1/125)
Aperture: f/4.0
Taken with my beloved *istDL2 with a 50-200mm sigma lens.

my entry...

Well just saw this weekly contest and why not.

Pretty much all my portraits are natural light and definitely shot outdoors.

It has been posted before, but I simply adore this shot of her:

Captured on a foggy day during a long walk and converted to monocrome.

Competion Ended

Ok folks

This week’s competition is now closed. I did say 2100 GMT so if anyone posts a late entry no problem.

I must say thanks to everyone for their entries. There have been some good ones.

Without sounding patronising I did feel some shots where your typical shoot and go without any real thought on creating a beautiful portrait with natures best light, but that’s just my own opinion.

Just to let you know I get my inspiration with regards to portraits using natural lighting from a professional I know called Damien Love grove. If you want to see his
Work please visits the link and you will see what I mean. Lovegrove Portraits - capturing life creatively

Anyway back to the competition. I have a winner and a second place but third is between two. So to keep you in suspense I will be posting the results tomorrow. I may even post a fourth place result for good measure

Once again many thanks to every one

Pete
