Picture of the Week 100: January 31, 2010 to February 14, 2010
Posted By: Peter Zack, 02-07-2010, 07:37 PM

Welcome to this 100th edition of the POTW. Frank hosted a great 99th and since it's an anniversary of sorts, Frank asked me to host this one once more.

So now that we are at 100. We need 100 submissions. Lets get some of those Snowmaggedon shots as well!

Picture of the Week 100: January 31, 2010 to February 14, 2010.

A special welcome to all new members: feel free to post your shots from this week and last week!

Most important note: feel free to post your shots from this week and last week!

Again same rules and really other than time frames there are no rules
1) No theme just your favorite stuff.
2) Let's keep it to about 4-6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week.
3) Any Pentax camera is fine, film, P&S, DSLR (or Samsung DSLR)
4) Date: Sunday Jan 24 2010 to Sunday Feb 7 2010. Enter anything you shot last week or during this current week until the thread closes.
5) The current host will appoint the new host as an invitation via PM. If possible, the new thread will be linked to the previous one and the new thread will start between 12:00EST and 5PM EST on the Sunday. If the thread doesn't start, please contact Peter Zack, Moderator.

Previous hosts: Each one is a hotlink to that POTW thread to look past at the previous 97 weeks. 1 Peter Zack, 2Eaglerapids 3 rmtagg, 4 Peter Zack, 5 daacon, 6 Bramela, 7 mtnbearhug, 8 dantuyhoa, 9 gawan,10 roentarre, 11 daacon, 12 Kris, 13 mtnbearhug, 14 SCGushue, 15 daacon, 16 maxwell1295, 17 dantuyhoa, 18 daacon, 19 maxwell1295 19(2) daacon, 20 Bramela, 21 Syb, 22 maxwell1295, 23 maxwell1295, 24 dantuyhoa, 25 Gawan, 26 Peter Zack, 27 borno, 28 daacon, 29 gawan, 30 Damn Brit, 31 maxwell1295 32 maxwell1295 , 33 dantuyhoa, 34 daacon, 35 Peter Zack, 36 Damn Brit, 37 Borno, 38 Kevint, 39 Peter Zack, 40 Timbo13, 41 daacon, 42 daacon, 43 gawan, 44 dantuyhoa, 45 daacon, 46 Rense, 47 daacon, 48 Rense, 49 borno, 50 Rense, 51 daacon, 52 Peter Zack, 53 Peter Zack, 54 dadipentax, 55 David Whiteley, 56 planedriver, 57 daacon,58 Bramela, 59 daacon, 60 gawan, 61 virgilr, 62 daacon, 63 RickL, 64 Peter Zack, 65 Peter Zack, 66 Causey 67 daacon, 68 Bramela, 69 georgeweb, 70 daacon, 71 seacapt, 72 daacon, 73 AOski, 74 Rense 75 eccs19, 76 daacon, 77 xs400, 78 daacon, 79 Bramela, 80 borno, 81 legacyb4, 82 daacon, 83 gawan, 84 Rense, 85 Peter Zack, 86 davef, 87 davef, 88 xjjohnno 89 Bramela , 90 Peter Zack, 91 daacon, 92 stevebrot ,93 reeftool, 94 jezza323, 95 oldschool, 96 Iris, 97 Rense, 98 planedriver, 99 xs400, 100 Peter Zack

I like that first one Vaughn but it feels a bit tilted even though I assume the waterline is straight. Some of my shots have had that feel and it drove me nuts.

Thanks Peter for hosting and comming up with the original concerpt. Wow has it been 100 weelks already ? Where does the time go - at least in this thread it's appears to be going to our pasion.

Not sure I wll get in any this week - leaving on a Jet plane soon , however unlike the song I do know when I'll be back again - all too quick still a little break is better than no break.

Peter great BW of your grandson - I think the other two things are Video Games and Girls? Oh wait they will come in time .... nice bike shot as well - time to exercise when the snow melts ... (I feel like a big ole bear).

jezza323 - very lush colors love the 360 pano ! Hey that could be worth $500 worth of stuff.

photolady - nice layout of the squirrel - man he looks to be a 4 feet long !

Frank - nice walkabout - I remember that museum when you and I hooked up a fewy years back. Still an amazing structure indeed.

John - Bikes , cars and cakes now that is variety !

PinarelloOnly - Cool monster trucks ! I'll bet it was loud as well.

Nomad - nice night shots and flower - hope you are feeling better.

reeftool - I hear ya on the winter blues - nice to see you get out and about. A fruitfull day.

Photolady - another 4 foot monster ! Well done.

Rense - too funy - so what can't park your A$$ there ? Nice series , what the heck is that last one ?

bumpibob - nice shooting from the hip. Man sure looks cold in that first shot.

dadipentak - nice hawk ! Well I suppose all that snow must of caused havoc in the area - be gone soon I suppose.

VaughnA - nice colors in #1 almost HDR like.

Well done all 20 months down - many many more to go

I agree...those photos look like they were almost as much fun to take as it was for the lil tyke just jumpin around. almost makes me wish i had my own 5 year old model....almost! :-)

as i came home tonight i just happened to catch the welcome sign barely peeking out of the snow along my driveway and kept driving another 20 feet or so. Then i decided there's a very good reason i carry my camera with me everywhere and also a very good reason why i ought to start actually using the damn thing. So i backed up and using my suby's headlights i worked with what i had available. see below for one of my end results, the setup and a shot of a portion of my 900 foot long snow covered driveway.

xjjohnno, jupiter-6 looks like a sweet one! Very nice captures, love the warmth in the christmas star pic.

PFH, great pictures wish we had some nicer dock-areas here in Örebro.

I walked to the store, and grabbed the camera even thou its a 4 minute walk..
..the camera had my Sigma 70-300 equipped.

These 2 pictures would prolly suit in "Men at work" ^^ but I rather post em here atm:

This fella dosnt seem concerned that the pavement had a fence closing it, and signs saying "Warning: falling snow" all over:

Some kids enjoying the snow in the kindergarden around the corner:

These are from Saturday....a little further south...

Cheers,
