Weekly Challenge #125 - The Element of Time

The challenge explained:

I've always been interested in the dichotomy between still photography and video. Video seems to have so many more ways to show the passage of time, but the photographer is not without his or her tricks either. But still, one of the hardest things for me, with my camera, is to include the element of time within the frame. All photography stops time for a moment, but there are ways to still capture that element within the frame.

So that's the challenge this week: show a photo that reveals the element of time. It can be as abstract or as non-abstract as you like.

The fine print....
1. Post ONE photo (max 1024x1024).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread, and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose 1 of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus a day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax camera will do or a Samsung DSLR.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.

Here's my entry, with multiple references to the "time" theme. I first took this shot because the cracks in the stump reminded me of a clock with the time of 13:40:17. The second "time" reference is the tree rings, each denoting a season, and finally the rot and insect boring gives weathering and age to the stump
