Picture of the Week: March 7 to March 21
Posted By: ramseybuckeye, 03-13-2010, 10:12 PM

This is the 105th Picture of the Week!

I will start by echoing Irishwhite, the esteemed host of last week's POTW, and thanking all of the administrators and moderators who keep this website going. As someone relatively new to owning a Pentax, the users of this great website have helped me improve my skills at a much greater pace than I thought possible. This is truly a global community full of good neighbors always there to help.

POTW is fun because everyone can post whatever pictures they took that week, and we get variety of great photos. We should start getting even more variety as we Northern Hemisphere residents welcome Spring and our Southern Hemisphere friends ease into Autumn. Let's shoot!

Feel free to post your photos from this coming week, as well as this last week!

Again same rules and really other than time frames, there are no rules:

1) No theme, just post your favorite pix.

2) Let's keep it to about 4-6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week.

3) Any Pentax camera or Samsug DSLR (I'm a Sammy DSLR owner, so don't be shy!) is fine, whether it's film, P&S, or DSLR

4) Date: Sunday 7 March 2010 to Sunday 21 March 2010. Enter anything you shot last week or during this current week until the thread closes.

5) The current host will appoint the new host as an invitation via PM. If possible, the new thread will be linked to the previous one and the new thread will start between 12:00EST and 5PM EST on the Sunday. If the thread doesn't start, please contact Peter Zack, Moderator via PM.

Previous hosts: Each one is a hotlink to that POTW thread to look past at the previous 103 weeks. 1 Peter Zack, 2Eaglerapids 3 rmtagg, 4 Peter Zack, 5 daacon, 6 Bramela, 7 mtnbearhug, 8 dantuyhoa, 9 gawan,10 roentarre, 11 daacon, 12 Kris, 13 mtnbearhug, 14 SCGushue, 15 daacon, 16 maxwell1295, 17 dantuyhoa, 18 daacon, 19 maxwell1295 19(2) daacon, 20 Bramela, 21 Syb, 22 maxwell1295, 23 maxwell1295, 24 dantuyhoa, 25 Gawan, 26 Peter Zack, 27 borno, 28 daacon, 29 gawan, 30 Damn Brit, 31 maxwell1295 32 maxwell1295 , 33 dantuyhoa, 34 daacon, 35 Peter Zack, 36 Damn Brit, 37 Borno, 38 Kevint, 39 Peter Zack, 40 Timbo13, 41 daacon, 42 daacon, 43 gawan, 44 dantuyhoa, 45 daacon, 46 Rense, 47 daacon, 48 Rense, 49 borno, 50 Rense, 51 daacon, 52 Peter Zack, 53 Peter Zack, 54 dadipentax, 55 David Whiteley, 56 planedriver, 57 daacon,58 Bramela, 59 daacon, 60 gawan, 61 virgilr, 62 daacon, 63 RickL, 64 Peter Zack, 65 Peter Zack, 66 Causey 67 daacon, 68 Bramela, 69 georgeweb, 70 daacon, 71 seacapt, 72 daacon, 73 AOski, 74 Rense 75 eccs19, 76 daacon, 77 xs400, 78 daacon, 79 Bramela, 80 borno, 81 legacyb4, 82 daacon, 83 gawan, 84 Rense, 85 Peter Zack, 86 davef, 87 davef, 88 xjjohnno 89 Bramela , 90 Peter Zack, 91 daacon, 92 stevebrot ,93 reeftool, 94 jezza323, 95 oldschool, 96 Iris, 97 Rense, 98 planedriver, 99 xs400, 100 Peter Zack, 101 Netuser 102 Photolady, 103 Tamia,

Yes, I know Jason isn't in focus, but that's what I was going for...

In-camera effects were used for this photo... I like how it turned out.

And of course, I just LOVE these shots:

SWEngineer, well thought out and well executed composition, especially with sky as the background.

Tamia, I have to say, you capture Winter better than anyone, I almost hate to see Winter end for that reason only.

Sara Hanna, great Cat shots! The cat looks like a very cooperative model too!

Here's mine for this week, it's getting warmer, but still brown and gray.
Tamia, this little guy is looking for your friend:

thank you for hosting, ramseybuckeye!

planedriver, as usual your shots are very nice in depth and colour. Those boats are just a wonderful capture. Looking forward til the day I cut a deal for a Kx.. it's a bit heavy on the price here yet.

jezza323, sweet HDR! Very neat.

oh Sara Hanna! The cats are beautiful So cute. Well shot.

I've spent my weekend working, 2 of our residents had a vacation (that means 2 of the personnel has not ^^ ) which I had the pleasure to join in on. It's still work, but in a rather nice area.

Hey all,
Everyone seems to have had a busy early week already. I had the day off yesterday to run some errands and noticed this really angry looking sky.

I'm a newbie to Pentax, but I'll join this:

Taken with K7 and Tair 11A. A lens I overlooked when shooting Sony, but I'm rediscovering it now, and I can say I'm very happy with its performance

Thank you so much, my dear! Over the last 7 years, there have been very few that I'm really proud of, but those are 2 of them!

Cezar, that cat shot is beautiful! (I love cats, can you tell? lol)

Bumbibop, thank you kindly! They were surprisingly agile that day, but I guess it's cuz I don't get to visit my dad often enough for the kitties' liking!

Nomad, that is a gorgeous sky shot!

Rense - I figured there were chocolate and indeed I'll bet they were good.

Tom - thanks for the comments. Indeed spring is here offically on the 20th , we may get some more snow , but it won't last and the color will eventually return.

AOski - thanks I have never been to Nebraska so I'll take your word for it.

Mark - nice perspective on the old bird.

Tamia - nice series I love #2 and #3 well done.

Sara Hanna - intersting persepctive in #1 indeed and while I am a dog person those are good shots of the cat.

Tom - your world looks like mine Like the #2 and #3 the best, in #3 there is a bit of red in the trees (could be my monitor).

Tpeace - nice capture - so where are all the underwater shots ? Was it a housing for the (D)SLR ?

Robin - nice series now if that is 'work' you're a luckly fellow.

Nomand - nice that sky does like something is about to happen.

cezarl - caught the sleeping cat , nicely done. That lens does look a good one.

tpeace, Not a typical beach shot! How did that dunk test go?

bumbibop, you caught some great facial expressions there! They had fun I take it.

Nomad, Did that wicked sky leave any rain or snow? Hope you got some more, great sky.

cezarL, Looks like that Tair 11A is well matched to your K7, hope we see more.

Dave, Looks like you've managed to find every bit of nature's non brown available in these shots. I particularly like that ice reflecting the clear sky.

Thank you, I am a lucky fella ^^ thou while on those trips its work 24h. Both the residents got quite rough autism, both around 40's in physical age but around 3-5 in mental. One of em deaf with only few signs as language. Very interesting, often very giving but also very tough.. and them both are the easy ones.

Thanks much, Tom. I get a lot of practice shooting snow and ice Your little downy woodpecker photo shows her feisty nature. Is that an old school house in your last photo, the brick building? It's a nice one.

Sara Hanna, welcome! I hate to see broken glass on the pavement when I'm cycling, but your photo is terrific. Great cat photos, too.

T-paz, egrets and herons are such graceful birds -- well done. The color of the water is great in your shot.

Robin, your companions looks like happy guys. So, what's cookin'?

Nomad, dramatic sky well captured!

CezarL, welcome to you as well! Your kitty picture captures the softness of the fur and pure relaxation cats seem always to achieve.

Dave, thanks! Love your views from Alberta, even if there are no beach shots .
