Picture of the Week: March 21 to April 4
Posted By: bumbibop, 03-29-2010, 12:30 AM

This is the 107th Picture of the Week!

I'd like to thank xjjohnno for the trust in me, giving me the chance to host this weeks PoTW. And I'd like to apologize for being late with it, as I was away working all weekend I didnt have the chance til now ^^ Thank you all.

POTW is fun because everyone can post whatever pictures they took that week, and we get variety of great photos. We should start getting even more variety as the Northern Hemisphere residents thaw out and welcome spring. We Southern Hemisphere friends ease into Autumn. Let's shoot!

Feel free to post your photos from this coming week, as well as this last week!

Again same rules and really other than time frames, there are no rules:

1) No theme, just post your favorite pix.

2) Let's keep it to about 4-6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week.

3) Any Pentax camera or Samsung DSLR is fine, whether it's film, P&S, or DSLR

4) Date: Sunday 21 March 2010 to Sunday 4 April 2010. Enter anything you shot last week or during this current week until the thread closes.

5) The current host will appoint the new host as an invitation via PM. If possible, the new thread will be linked to the previous one and the new thread will start between 12:00EST and 5PM EST on the Sunday. If the thread doesn't start, please contact Peter Zack, Moderator via PM.

Previous hosts: Each one is a hotlink to that POTW thread to look past at the previous 103 weeks. 1 Peter Zack, 2Eaglerapids 3 rmtagg, 4 Peter Zack, 5 daacon, 6 Bramela, 7 mtnbearhug, 8 dantuyhoa, 9 gawan,10 roentarre, 11 daacon, 12 Kris, 13 mtnbearhug, 14 SCGushue, 15 daacon, 16 maxwell1295, 17 dantuyhoa, 18 daacon, 19 maxwell1295 19(2) daacon, 20 Bramela, 21 Syb, 22 maxwell1295, 23 maxwell1295, 24 dantuyhoa, 25 Gawan, 26 Peter Zack, 27 borno, 28 daacon, 29 gawan, 30 Damn Brit, 31 maxwell1295 32 maxwell1295 , 33 dantuyhoa, 34 daacon, 35 Peter Zack, 36 Damn Brit, 37 Borno, 38 Kevint, 39 Peter Zack, 40 Timbo13, 41 daacon, 42 daacon, 43 gawan, 44 dantuyhoa, 45 daacon, 46 Rense, 47 daacon, 48 Rense, 49 borno, 50 Rense, 51 daacon, 52 Peter Zack, 53 Peter Zack, 54 dadipentax, 55 David Whiteley, 56 planedriver, 57 daacon,58 Bramela, 59 daacon, 60 gawan, 61 virgilr, 62 daacon, 63 RickL, 64 Peter Zack, 65 Peter Zack, 66 Causey 67 daacon, 68 Bramela, 69 georgeweb, 70 daacon, 71 seacapt, 72 daacon, 73 AOski, 74 Rense 75 eccs19, 76 daacon, 77 xs400, 78 daacon, 79 Bramela, 80 borno, 81 legacyb4, 82 daacon, 83 gawan, 84 Rense, 85 Peter Zack, 86 davef, 87 davef, 88 xjjohnno 89 Bramela , 90 Peter Zack, 91 daacon, 92 stevebrot ,93 reeftool, 94 jezza323, 95 oldschool, 96 Iris, 97 Rense, 98 planedriver, 99 xs400, 100 Peter Zack, 101 Netuser 102 Photolady, 103 Tamia,

Some fine shots all well done. Been MIA for a while early spring here is rather blah ... just not much to shoot! Took the dog for a walk this evening and managed few flight formations.

Something transcendental about that first shot Dave. I like it!

I've been killing time playing with oil paints on water until this weekend when I can get back in the water myself....

Wanted to try this for the Abstract competition a few weeks ago but didn't have enough time.

I haven't played with oil paints before. I still have to figure out how to mix the oils smoothly.

On a summer afternoon, photographers are lined up 10 deep to photograph this historic mill near Woodland, Washington. Late on an early Spring day, it was just me...

Dave, Beautiful shots! I especially like the first one, its opalescence and
composition and drama.

Tom, that's a great series, especially #3 and #4.

Tpeace, those are striking abstracts. First one looks almost bloody.

Steve, beautiful slow shutter speed photo.

My first chance to take pics since the weekend due to an early finish from work today.
This fella near licked the photographer to death. Wish my macro models were as co-operative.

Tom - thanks for the comments , I actually used that one in a memorial slide show I recently did. Nice old building with lots of character.

tpeace - thanks for the comments. That looks like messy work but very abstract and colorful.

Steve - what a wonderful shot. That should be hung on some wall.

Timia - thanks for the commetns. Looks like you have found is that a preserved leaf or a new one ?

Robin - thanks for the comments. Nice cat (a little dark) but that looks like one comfy chair.

John - that Dog is licking his lips over all the wonderful flower shots. Well done.

Here are a few fellows that have come to realize spring in Alberta is a fickle thing.

Looking for some water ...

A little ruffled over the idea

Don't you wish you could look behind you like this

Johnny, Love the doggie and the pink flower.

Dave, indeed it's a bit dark couldnt get the correct settings, and after that first shot he ran. Great light on yer birds thou! Very beautiful.

Peter, it's beautiful and odd! Mind telling me what it is? (The name is very fitting to the feeling it gives thou)

Still, I don't have much time nor energy to actually photograph, but here's 2:

My gal came home with some flowers, and Xavi were there sniffing and playing very swift! :

After some while, she sat working at the computer.. and so did he (a more fitting size for him actually) :

Robin, Cute cat and you're a lucky guy hope she lets you take her picture alot.
The photo is of some cedar trees wrapped in burlap to protect tem over the winter. They looked so much like people, this came to mind. It was just a matter of finding the right angle. I went to the 5th floor of a building and shot down from the roof until the security guy asked me what I was up to.

ramseybuckeye: for some reason, the exterior shot works best for me.
tpeace: I like your abstracts
stevebrot: That has postcard potential.
daacon: Nice detail on the bird portraits.
Peter: Great shot! Your perspective choice works well.
bumbibop: nice socks your lady friend has. thanks for hosting.

Another abstract of mine from a week ago:
