Photo Of The Week March 28 - April 11
Posted By: JeffJS, 04-04-2010, 02:54 AM

This is the 108th Picture of the Week!

I'd like to thank bumbibop for the trust in me, giving me the chance to host this weeks PoTW. I'm relatively new to posting in the Pentax Forums (been over at the other place for awhile)..

POTW is fun because everyone can post whatever pictures they took that week, and we get variety of great photos. This gives everyone a great excuse to pick up the camera, step away from the computer for a minute and go shoot. We're pretty thawed here in the Northern part of the country though some of us are getting pretty wet. Still should be some great shots from some great Pentaxians!

Feel free to post your photos from this coming week, as well as this last week!

Again same rules and really other than time frames, there are no rules:

1) No theme, just post your favorite pix.

2) Let's keep it to about 4-6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week.

3) Any Pentax camera or Samsung DSLR is fine, whether it's film, P&S, or DSLR

4) Date: Sunday 21 March 2010 to Sunday 4 April 2010. Enter anything you shot last week or during this current week until the thread closes.

5) The current host will appoint the new host as an invitation via PM. If possible, the new thread will be linked to the previous one and the new thread will start between 12:00EST and 5PM EST on the Sunday. If the thread doesn't start, please contact Peter Zack, Moderator via PM.

Previous hosts: Each one is a hotlink to that POTW thread to look past at the previous 103 weeks. 1 Peter Zack, 2Eaglerapids 3 rmtagg, 4 Peter Zack, 5 daacon, 6 Bramela, 7 mtnbearhug, 8 dantuyhoa, 9 gawan,10 roentarre, 11 daacon, 12 Kris, 13 mtnbearhug, 14 SCGushue, 15 daacon, 16 maxwell1295, 17 dantuyhoa, 18 daacon, 19 maxwell1295 19(2) daacon, 20 Bramela, 21 Syb, 22 maxwell1295, 23 maxwell1295, 24 dantuyhoa, 25 Gawan, 26 Peter Zack, 27 borno, 28 daacon, 29 gawan, 30 Damn Brit, 31 maxwell1295 32 maxwell1295 , 33 dantuyhoa, 34 daacon, 35 Peter Zack, 36 Damn Brit, 37 Borno, 38 Kevint, 39 Peter Zack, 40 Timbo13, 41 daacon, 42 daacon, 43 gawan, 44 dantuyhoa, 45 daacon, 46 Rense, 47 daacon, 48 Rense, 49 borno, 50 Rense, 51 daacon, 52 Peter Zack, 53 Peter Zack, 54 dadipentax, 55 David Whiteley, 56 planedriver, 57 daacon,58 Bramela, 59 daacon, 60 gawan, 61 virgilr, 62 daacon, 63 RickL, 64 Peter Zack, 65 Peter Zack, 66 Causey 67 daacon, 68 Bramela, 69 georgeweb, 70 daacon, 71 seacapt, 72 daacon, 73 AOski, 74 Rense 75 eccs19, 76 daacon, 77 xs400, 78 daacon, 79 Bramela, 80 borno, 81 legacyb4, 82 daacon, 83 gawan, 84 Rense, 85 Peter Zack, 86 davef, 87 davef, 88 xjjohnno 89 Bramela , 90 Peter Zack, 91 daacon, 92 stevebrot ,93 reeftool, 94 jezza323, 95 oldschool, 96 Iris, 97 Rense, 98 planedriver, 99 xs400, 100 Peter Zack, 101 Netuser 102 Photolady, 103 Tamia,

Was out on the motorbike and checking out some coastal spots along the ocean/ Bass Strait. Overcast so no great sky to compliment the scenery.

Jeff thanks for hosting

John I like the series think I would have walked inside that Pub

Bumbibop - really like the bike series wel done.

Tom - great shots, love the turtles and sunsets wow hard place to be

reeftool - indeed a rare hot spring day nice captures of people enjoying it.

Nomad - Nice action well caught.

Jeff - looks like sping has sprung there as well.

Tom - well done with the ducks in the sunset it really adds to the shot.

John - back to the bird captures - another good series.

Oldschool - ha ! Love captian underpants

Rense - nice flower white is hard to expose.

Bumbibop - another fun series.

Tom - wow I was recently in Mexico - I bought a Canon Powershot D10 for underwater shots. Would love to have that housing.

John - lovely costal shots , overcast or not, I like the wave in the last one.

Indeed to see the world in one thread is great. Still more or less colorless here. Signs of spring are slowly staring to appear ..

I was down at White Rock over the weekend and caught this pair of seagulls squaring off to see who got first dibs on the poor crab that had washed up on shore. Legs flailing in vain, the crab didn't stand a chance against the hungry birds...

Thhis shot looks like some sort of animal, however, it is actually the head of a moth about 1-1/2 inches long. Actually, it was raining rather heavily at the time, as can be seen by the drops., so I felt rather fortunate to catch the shot in haste.
No doubt about the Vivitar Ser 1 105mm Macro, a truly brilliant Macro lens.

Incidentally, are they the proverbial eyes in the back of the head I can see there?

Great shots everyone..

I went out Easter Sunday, early, or at least early for me to the Detroit River to take some morning shots. Unfortunately the sun still rises in the east and I didn't really get the shots I wanted but still managed to make a few.. I started my contribution on page 1 with some of the riverfront shots from that morning. On the way home I took a little detour to an area known as Delray to shoot (with a camera) some of the churches in that area.

here's one a little closer to where I live.

Of course, to Michigan Train chasers, Delray is one of the hot spots for shutterbugs.
