Week 110 - Photo of the Week 11 April to 25 April
Posted By: Nomad, 04-17-2010, 08:11 AM

Welcome to 110th edition of the Pentax Forum's Picture of the Week!
This edition covers photos taken between April 11th thru April 25th.

Thanks to Tom (tpeace) for hosting last week and giving me the nod for my first effort at hosting POTW. I look forward to seeing a lot of great images from everyone this week as I really gain inspiration by seeing what others here are shooting and posting.
POTW is a great way to see what Pentax owners are doing with their cameras as they post whatever pictures they took during the active week. Check in here to see a nice variety of great photos.

So grab your camera, get out there and shoot! Then come on back here and share your shots with your fellow Pentaxians!

Feel free to post your photos from this coming week, as well as this last week!

Again same rules and really other than time frames, there are no rules:

1) No theme, just post your favorite pix.

2) Let's keep it to about 4-6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week.

3) Any Pentax camera or Samsung DSLR is fine, whether it's film, P&S, or DSLR

4) Date: Sunday 11 April 2010 to Sunday 25 April 2010. Enter anything you shot last week or during this current week until the thread closes. Old shots with a new look from post processing during the open time period are also welcome.

5) The current host will appoint the new host as an invitation via PM. If possible, the new thread will be linked to the previous one and the new thread will start between 12:00EST and 5PM EST on the Sunday. If the thread doesn't start, please contact Peter Zack, Moderator via PM.

Previous hosts: Each one is a hotlink to that POTW thread to look past at the previous 109 weeks. 1 Peter Zack, 2Eaglerapids 3 rmtagg, 4 Peter Zack, 5 daacon, 6 Bramela, 7 mtnbearhug, 8 dantuyhoa, 9 gawan,10 roentarre, 11 daacon, 12 Kris, 13 mtnbearhug, 14 SCGushue, 15 daacon, 16 maxwell1295, 17 dantuyhoa, 18 daacon, 19 maxwell1295 19(2) daacon, 20 Bramela, 21 Syb, 22 maxwell1295, 23 maxwell1295, 24 dantuyhoa, 25 Gawan, 26 Peter Zack, 27 borno, 28 daacon, 29 gawan, 30 Damn Brit, 31 maxwell1295 32 maxwell1295 , 33 dantuyhoa, 34 daacon, 35 Peter Zack, 36 Damn Brit, 37 Borno, 38 Kevint, 39 Peter Zack, 40 Timbo13, 41 daacon, 42 daacon, 43 gawan, 44 dantuyhoa, 45 daacon, 46 Rense, 47 daacon, 48 Rense, 49 borno, 50 Rense, 51 daacon, 52 Peter Zack, 53 Peter Zack, 54 dadipentax, 55 David Whiteley, 56 planedriver, 57 daacon,58 Bramela, 59 daacon, 60 gawan, 61 virgilr, 62 daacon, 63 RickL, 64 Peter Zack, 65 Peter Zack, 66 Causey 67 daacon, 68 Bramela, 69 georgeweb, 70 daacon, 71 seacapt, 72 daacon, 73 AOski, 74 Rense 75 eccs19, 76 daacon, 77 xs400, 78 daacon, 79 Bramela, 80 borno, 81 legacyb4, 82 daacon, 83 gawan, 84 Rense, 85 Peter Zack, 86 davef, 87 davef, 88 xjjohnno 89 Bramela , 90 Peter Zack, 91 daacon, 92 stevebrot ,93 reeftool, 94 jezza323, 95 oldschool, 96 Iris, 97 Rense, 98 planedriver, 99 xs400, 100 Peter Zack, 101 Netuser 102 Photolady, 103 Tamia,

Nomad thanks for hosting this week's POTW.

I shot some stuff last week and this week so here is one of my attempts at domestic slow water shots.

This is a crop from a photo I posted in another thread. Taking some advice from others, I cropped it down (my own decision) and flattened out the horizon some to get rid of the smiling ground from my 16mm Fisheye..

Geez Tom, I post what I think is a cool moody shot (well, maybe not moody) and you come in behind me with shots that prove Pentax can do nice action shots....

What lens did you use to get them?

Thanks Jeff.

The waterproof casing I have is meant for the 10-17mm but the 18-55mm kit lens fits when I set it to 35mm and I prefer the closer image even though I sometimes wind up with mistakes - i.e. shots like this:

Thanks for hosting, Keith. Nice shots, all! Tom, that housing is getting a lot of excellent use. Looks like a blast!

Thank you for hosting Nomad!

Legacyb4, great one. Beautiful capture.

tpeace, great shots! Looks like fun photographing such action.

Tamia, love the recycling one!

I'm in a bit of a hurry, so I'll just contribute by adding 3 portraits from yesterday:

I didn't shoot much the last couple of weeks but made up for it Yesterday and Friday. I was up to visit my daughter at St. Lawrence University and catch her final year of Crew Rowing. I got up there early enough Friday and went out on a launch with the coach to watch and shoot some practice pics. I got quite a few very close up shots you just can't get from the shoreline. One of the shots is quite different as the coach had 2 of the girls change seat positions on the water. I've never seen that done and got a few shots. I'm posting a few and the rest I have on my Picasa page.

Well what a great start to the week. A few from me:

These first 2 were taken around midday using the Tamoron 28-75mm f2.8 and a pair of Stacked Hoya ND's an ND4 and ND8 to get the slow shutter speeds

Next was an old barn all alone in a farm field that is being reclaimed by nature.

Finally this little critter (about 2.5 feet long liked to pose:

I think this week will be a very busy one, photographically speaking. For one thing, it includes Pentaxium, when a lot of us were out shooting.

To start off this week, a series of three. I'm not sure if I should just pick one as the best or run it as a triptych. If anyone has a favourite let me know.

These were shot on the west coast of Ireland near Kilkee, on cliffs overlooking the ocean.
