Week 110 - Photo of the Week 11 April to 25 April
Posted By: Nomad, 04-17-2010, 08:11 AM

Welcome to 110th edition of the Pentax Forum's Picture of the Week!
This edition covers photos taken between April 11th thru April 25th.

Thanks to Tom (tpeace) for hosting last week and giving me the nod for my first effort at hosting POTW. I look forward to seeing a lot of great images from everyone this week as I really gain inspiration by seeing what others here are shooting and posting.
POTW is a great way to see what Pentax owners are doing with their cameras as they post whatever pictures they took during the active week. Check in here to see a nice variety of great photos.

So grab your camera, get out there and shoot! Then come on back here and share your shots with your fellow Pentaxians!

Feel free to post your photos from this coming week, as well as this last week!

Again same rules and really other than time frames, there are no rules:

1) No theme, just post your favorite pix.

2) Let's keep it to about 4-6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week.

3) Any Pentax camera or Samsung DSLR is fine, whether it's film, P&S, or DSLR

4) Date: Sunday 11 April 2010 to Sunday 25 April 2010. Enter anything you shot last week or during this current week until the thread closes. Old shots with a new look from post processing during the open time period are also welcome.

5) The current host will appoint the new host as an invitation via PM. If possible, the new thread will be linked to the previous one and the new thread will start between 12:00EST and 5PM EST on the Sunday. If the thread doesn't start, please contact Peter Zack, Moderator via PM.

Previous hosts: Each one is a hotlink to that POTW thread to look past at the previous 109 weeks. 1 Peter Zack, 2Eaglerapids 3 rmtagg, 4 Peter Zack, 5 daacon, 6 Bramela, 7 mtnbearhug, 8 dantuyhoa, 9 gawan,10 roentarre, 11 daacon, 12 Kris, 13 mtnbearhug, 14 SCGushue, 15 daacon, 16 maxwell1295, 17 dantuyhoa, 18 daacon, 19 maxwell1295 19(2) daacon, 20 Bramela, 21 Syb, 22 maxwell1295, 23 maxwell1295, 24 dantuyhoa, 25 Gawan, 26 Peter Zack, 27 borno, 28 daacon, 29 gawan, 30 Damn Brit, 31 maxwell1295 32 maxwell1295 , 33 dantuyhoa, 34 daacon, 35 Peter Zack, 36 Damn Brit, 37 Borno, 38 Kevint, 39 Peter Zack, 40 Timbo13, 41 daacon, 42 daacon, 43 gawan, 44 dantuyhoa, 45 daacon, 46 Rense, 47 daacon, 48 Rense, 49 borno, 50 Rense, 51 daacon, 52 Peter Zack, 53 Peter Zack, 54 dadipentax, 55 David Whiteley, 56 planedriver, 57 daacon,58 Bramela, 59 daacon, 60 gawan, 61 virgilr, 62 daacon, 63 RickL, 64 Peter Zack, 65 Peter Zack, 66 Causey 67 daacon, 68 Bramela, 69 georgeweb, 70 daacon, 71 seacapt, 72 daacon, 73 AOski, 74 Rense 75 eccs19, 76 daacon, 77 xs400, 78 daacon, 79 Bramela, 80 borno, 81 legacyb4, 82 daacon, 83 gawan, 84 Rense, 85 Peter Zack, 86 davef, 87 davef, 88 xjjohnno 89 Bramela , 90 Peter Zack, 91 daacon, 92 stevebrot ,93 reeftool, 94 jezza323, 95 oldschool, 96 Iris, 97 Rense, 98 planedriver, 99 xs400, 100 Peter Zack, 101 Netuser 102 Photolady, 103 Tamia,

Bramela, that's a cool one.

Hey Robin, once again we're two to make things a bit harder in commenting
Great shots, and my favourite is the 3d one, but they make a nice serie!

Jezza, as usual great light from you! Very well captured.

Pete: That lizard seems out of his natural habitat! I love the skin on these beauties and have to find a friend with one to take some shots. Believe it or not I have never snapped a reptile or amphibian, if I remember correctly. But I have been fascinated by them since a child.

Bramela: "Bromeliade Spike" is going in my list of cool plant names. The illumination (flash?) works for me to make this seem more alien.

jezza323: Wow! That is using an infrared filter to its utmost. I always wished I had the cash to convert a camera, but maybe I'll just grab one of those. Not that the shots would be as amazing as "Pre Sunrise at Lake Moogerah" or the bale of hay. Incredible sky!

bumbibop: My favourite is number three as well. Thanks for the comment!

Rense: Fantastic water drop shot.

Floral

I had lots of fun shooting many floral photos in our yard after dinner Monday evening with a secondhand SMC Pentax 100 mm macro lens on my K100D.
The tulip reminds me of a fancy goldfish I owned years ago.
A piece of foam core leaning against a tripod is the background.

Wonderful capture Rense! Great light, reflection and sharpness! Really love it.

Casil, Both are great. The 2nd has odd and fun perspective, I like such

Jeff, looks like a nice friend there. Probably one of the most loyal you'll ever get ^^

Jezza, looks warm and nice. Bit bright with the sun ^^ but I guess you enjoyed it.

smf, darn! Those shots are beautiful! I'm just about to join in and add some macro-tries with my 2nd hand 50mm f1.7, with a couple of extension rings .. but they'll look dull compared to yours

I'll do it anyway thou:

(sorry for double-posting. Added this to the bokeh-section aswell)

Some more from this weekend. The crews raced on Saturday. The cool thing about Waddington is that you can catch the start of the race, get in the car and cheer (and get photos) the boats on for the finish. This is the start and finish of my daughters race against Hamilton College, which they won by a good margin. The last is a shot of a mama bird defending her nest in the middle of about a hundred rowers and spectators. She never left and would make quite a racket when someone got too close. Shot with the 18-55 kit lens and cropped. I have no idea what kind of bird it is.

Wow, people have been busy already! I have taken so many shots again that I am keeping them mostly in their own threads, so as not to overwhelm this one. I must say I did expect a lot, what with Pentaxium being smack dab in the middle. On 17 April I we went back to Kilkee, County Clare, where I did my first Pentax Day shoot three years ago. Nostalgia! I have an entire thread for these shots, but will include a sample of three here.

I spent a lot of time looking down at the forms and textures under-foot, but also got some photos of the way, surf, cliffs and family who were with me. I like these ones and if you do too, check out the rest!

We went to the local cherry blossom fesitival, but the warm weather messed up the schedule. It seems the the blossoms were a week early this year.

She's a killdeer, so named because of her call KILL-DEE, KILL-DEE...
