Project 52-2-42 Subject: Motion
Posted By: mithrandir, 04-22-2010, 07:37 AM

For week 42 we will again be concentrating on shooting subjects. This week your composition should focus on showing MOTION. How to show motion -- let me count the ways.

(Pictures for the week 42 competition are to be taken and posted between 20100425 and 20100502).

NOTE: We have two Seasonal competitions planned for the last two weeks of year two. You may take pictures for these anytime between 20090705 and the posting dates of 20100704 or 20100711. This way you can include your favorite holiday or season whenever it occurs during the year.

Rules:
1. Anyone and everyone who is interested in eligible. The goal continues to be
have fun and share comments, concepts, insights, and techniques with fellow
Pentaxians.
2. Each week will feature a Theme and Sub-concept for you to explore.
3. Post your single picture in Project 52-2 thread for the week. Explain what
motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly
theme.
4. Some post-processing is OK (adjusting white balance, exposure, color
saturation), but let's try to stay away from heavily PP'ed images here. Try to
keep the creativity to photographic techniques and the captures themselves.
5. Since this project is about technique, and not camera, shots taken by nonPentax cameras are allowed. Cameras can be SLRs, DSLRs, Point & Shoot and Medium Format.
6. There is one “Theme Concept” labeled “black and white,” but feel free to post
black and white, sepia, monotone, etc., for any of the other themes.
7. The picture you post should be taken during the week in which the theme is active to be eligible for judging.
8. Any picture taken from 20090705 to listed closing date is acceptable for the two “Seasonal” competitions – Projects 52-2-51 & 52.

Great ones casil403! You inspired me getting a shot myself.

..sadly, rain came early and no real good shots were captured.. but this will be my contribution, as I doubt I'll get anything better this week

Dan, I can see Robin's photo OK. Using Safari.

Good shots already. I don't have a person in motion, but as is often the case, the local river gave me a shot. In this case, a stick which is stuck in a rock fissure while the rapids flow around it:

Awaiting Joy

So I took this today for my friends who as of this moment are in about hour 40 of labour... it shows motion, so I thought why not post it... at this rate, there will not be a kid in this swing by the end of the week.

I don't know if this one counts or not but I took it today in 15mph winds. If it's not right, let me know and I'll remove it.

Still a few days left on this challenge. I hope to see more entries over the weekend. This won't be included in the judging, but maybe it will give you an idea for a 'Motion' picture.

Tom, I've never seen a trainer like that one. Looks like a cross between rollers and a mag resistance trainer.

Nice onces again. I had a slow-motion idea, but it didn't work out. Too bad....
Nice though that when I talked it over with Rense this morning, it seemed he had exactly the same plan.
Rense, I do wonder what will become your final entry.....
