In my opinion probably one of the best kit lens out there, if not probably it is the best kit lens that comes with a camera body. =D.

First image post on the forums...

And second post over all. So be kind! I took this image back on March 20.

Ornamental cherry plum (Prunus cerasifera) in full bloom.

Pentax K-7. F8, 55mm, 1/250. "Landscape" color profile with some minor user adjustment. This particular version of the photograph is the JPEG iPhoto generates when it imports my RAW photos. So its not quite as sharp as the RAW file. No PP.*

Yes, we've seen photos of flowers before but... I thought I'd share mine too! They remain beautiful no matter how often we photograph them.

*I'm trying to get away from iPhoto, but haven't made the decision on where to go next. I'm thinking of buying another internal hard drive and installing a version of Linux so I can run darktable. Its free and I think it'd be nice to learn on something free before deciding whether to spend money on other software.

Cheers,

Black corners 18-55mm telephoto

I have been using my 18-55mm kit lens for about two weeks now...just picked up my K-r and this is my first DSLR. I noticed at 18mm I don't just get distortion in the corners, I get blacked out areas. I couldn't locate any 18mm examples above so I am posting my photo. Check out the corners of my photo...is this normal? Thanks all. What great shots.

There is something very wrong here. What lens hood are you using? BTW, this may not be the right thread for this. I'd open a new one elsewhere.

A bit more PP than usual, but one of my favorites

K-7, ISO 250, 1/125, 18mm. I just received a tripod as a birthday gift and I must say, I like this kit lens a lot more with legs.
