a little samples of my ex M85 I really loved this lens but the samyang 85 1.4 is better in most conditions and because I needed wide fast prime... so I've sold the M85. I hope that FA35 and Samyang 85 will make me forget the M85 .

More 85's

Wow, some fantastic photos so far! The M 85mm f/2.0 is my absolute favorite short tele, small, light, fast and unobtrusive. It can be a handful to focus properly, but the KatzEye screen helps a lot.
Here's a few "candids" and street/walkaround shots, another area where the 85mm excells;

Hi Simbon4o

Just to help my learning, did you use reflector to fill light especially for the pics 4, 6, 8 & 9?

All great pics and the info that you like samyang more than M85 is making me think - 'should I sell mine too?'. Is the Samyang also a manual lens?

best

Yes most of them are with reflector(6, 8, 9), but only a little. Otherwise it becomes very hard lighted.
Samyang 85 is more than manual lens, it is an A lens. The aperture is changing from the body, I'm using Av mode with it. It is much better from the M85 on the wide apertures, with softer defocus(bokeh). It is pretty usable on 1.4 too, sharper on the edges then M85...the aperture has 8 blades. M85 is more sharper from F5.0 to F16 and if used where it is strong - it is great little lens which can be taken outside in the pocket.

Wow!
Nothing sells a lens better than portraits of a beautiful lady.
Fantastic work with the M85

Other than rather poor CA control, this lens is pretty amazing.
In fact, I tend to think that it is precisely this poor CA control that allows for a very nice drawing of the subject (usually apparent between transitions to OOF or high contrast areas)

Is this a Brenizer method shot? Love it either way.

Yes it is. I think about 20 shots at 2.8 stitched together.

I'm comparing these sample images to the FA77 limited images,and I would have to say that there would be a hairline difference in overall quality of images of the two lenses.The 77 has a 'WOW' A+ factor,but the old M85 is pushing it up the rear.
