First snow of the season. As you can see it wasn't much.

Wide open f/2.8, 1/500, ISO 200

Have someone ever tested the bokeh of this lens?
I've the lens myself and it looks like the bokeh changes character on the back side of the focus, right after the focus it's quite smooth and then comes an area where the blur is more defined and then it gets more blurred again.
So i wonder if anyone can confirm this, have seen it in several photos of mine and others.

You can kind of see that effect in the photo I just posted. Or maybe reading what you're saying caused me to subliminally see that in the bokeh.

Here is one of mine.
You can see the more defined bokeh but you can't see the transition to the smoother bokeh.

I can see it in your photo as well though if you look for it.
The edge of the mirror and the droplets on the left side of the mirror on the window is kind of "busy" but if you look to the right it's much softer and smoother.

I don't mind the effect though, it's kind of neat.

No bokeh, and it's a bit overprocessed (on purpose) but you can see how sharp this lens is.

the bokeh
can be very smooth (front and back)
example made with K5 & 50-135 at 80mm f2.8 1/500

speed
quite a lot of people say the AF-Speed isn't the very best, but it can do action-shots
example made with K5 & 50-135 at 50mm f7.1 1/500

Great shots mate.

I think my DA*50-135 motor might be dying.. it has slowed considerably in focusing. I still have 6 weeks left of my warranty so I'll be getting it checked out this week.
