50-135 portrait practice

My daughter letting me practice shooting portraits with my 50-135 2.8, Sorry I thought these were all from my 50-135 but the last one is from my 50 1.7 manual lens from the 70's.

Beautiful pictures!
Hopefully Pentax wakes up and releases and updated version of this zoom.

The lens was very good, except for the flaky SDM. I was a victim of that, and ended up with the 55-300 which is not where near optically, and much, much slower aperture wise. I have a few shots I took with the AFA1.7x on it, and optically there was absolutely nothing to be ashamed of with an 85-230 f/4.8 lens. If Pentax/Ricoh were to put a PLM AF system into it, it would be a killer lens.

That's what I'm afraid of. And I agree with you: that PLM AF is extremely fast and would be fabulous to have it in more lenses.

Still one of my favourite lenses even though the sdm has packed it in.

Warnesm777 - the last picture of your daughter is just fantastic, and illustrates one of the reasons I love this lens (they are all beautiful but, to me, that one stands out).

ETA - Read this again. Last picture would have only been better with the DA* 50-135

Old pictures from K10D and K-7 with DA* 50-135.

Didn't want to get too close

Another bee pic

Just an image

More recent with KP and new (replaced dropped and destroyed DA* 50-135)

Violano-Virtuoso

Early electroshock therapy

Typewriter

Comfort??
