I just acquired a great used copy of the FA 100mm F2.8 Macro and I am learning how to use it.
I thought that I resurrect this thread for such an awesome lens!

I do have a question about this lens. What do the controls on the barrel do?

Clamp - On/Off ??

Focus Range - MP / Limit / AF / Full ??

Clamp helps to tighten the focus ring so as not to make even slight adjustments to the focusing distance.
Focus Range is a focus ring limiter so in AF you can restrict the focus ring throw from macro to non-macro distances without having for the camera to go all the way back and forth in the focus distance range to hunt for the right focusing distance.
Try it yourself and see the effect it has.

Thanks for the explanation...I'll try that the next time I use the lens.
