My tiny contribution...i really need to get out and shoot this lens more. But it is kind of an awkward focal length on an APS-C camera (at least for me...if you specialize in portraits, this probably would be ideal).

cali92rs recently passed the flag to me. So here are some shots from my quick intro to this lens. It is the perfect lens to get when all the holiday lights are out.
Here are some Christmas ornaments. Will post more once I learn how to stop my heart so I can keep focus.

PS: Don't ask me what a straw man hanging by his neck has anything to do with Christmas. I saw these at a Christmas Market.

Nice shots...great use of the shallow DOF.
Glad to see that you have given the lens a great home

I'm wondering... how do you guys mount/dismount this lens from your camera? Aperture ring, focus ring... everything's turning and there's only a narrow band inbetween...

Anyway... great lens!

- original

- cropped detail

Just scored one of these on the Devil's Junkyard. Looks to be in good condition, the expected misty glow wide open and very decent levels of sharpness fully kicking in by f/2. Somewhat disappointing closest focus distance at 0.6m, and the expected tricky focussing - LV with magnification is very definitely your friend with this lens. There don't seem to be any examples using a K-1, so here goes.

First few tries, all SOOC JPEGs, at f/1.2 unless stated otherwise:

Not the greatest image ever, but just look at those bubbles!

Comparison of f/2 and f/1.2:

Saving the best (?) until last. Some PF if you look closely, but the edges and corners look nice to me:

Here are some more, after a trip to the shop having developed stuck aperture blades in our summer heatwave. In a heatwave, what you want is gin:

Poor straw man. Beautifully festive shots!

Thanks - tasted pretty good, too!

Here's one stopped down to about f/2 - at f/1.2 the fly wasn't sharp enough for my taste. PP in RawTherapee to get the full high-key effect.

1938 Hillman Minx and Spitfire Vc at the 2018 Shuttleworth Night Shoot. I got sharper shots, but there's something special about the rendering which I thnk suits the subject...
