Top image may need some tweaking, but I can't quite pinpoint how. It goes from light to dark as you go from left to right, and so this de-emphasizes the caterpillar.

The last image is just stunning.

It is a very nice lens; do you have K-mount version or the M42 version? I have the latter.

Hi.

I have the M42 version, and I really like it a lot! Compared to my Elicar 90 mm macro, the Vivitar 55 mm macro is not so heavy and gives a better bokeh IMHO.

The Vivitar 55mm F2.8 was the first macro lens I owned - bought cheaply 2nd hand but a very decent performer.
