True enough, but since I've never convinced that the 20-35 was good enough for the K-1 (which is partly why I bought a KP instead), what I've done with the 20-35 on APS-C can't really be of much use for those who want to use the lens on FF.

I've found it to be okay on the K-1, Greg, and DimC's results speak for themselves.

Elsewhere someone else thought it superior to the old M20 f4, an obvious lightweight UWA option for those trying to avoid the big and beautiful15-30 f2.8.

I just recently picked up a copy of this lens. The K-1 made me buy it. I only had one outing so far mainly to test it out.
Both are on the K-1.
20mm

35mm

I was hoping to get put this weekend but the weather has other ideas.

Very nice Michael! The second image looks like a realist painting at first glance. I like it a lot.

I have found it to be better than okay on APS-C. A year ago, when I was contemplating purchasing a K-1, I tracked down every full resolution images from the K-1 + FA 20-35 I could find online and just wasn't all that impressed with performance outside the APC-C image circle.

I also own the M 20/4. There about equal in sharpness (at least on APS-C). The FA 20-35 has better contrast and saturation, the old M 20 has better rendering.

Thank you, it was extremely bright out so I had a B&W polarizer filter on. The borders at 20mm are not the best so I did do some distortion correction by hand on that last one.

As for using the FA20-35 on the K-1, I am sure the DFA 15-30 beats it in every aspect. The borders at 20mm are not the best. There are no lens profiles for 20-35 so corrections are done manually. Stopping the lens down to f11 does not completely clean the borders up either. However I am not kept at night worried about the sharpness of the borders on my photos so I'm good. Overall the sharpness and IQ is still quite good. The 15-30 is just too big and I know I would just end up leaving it home. It seems most of the lenses Richoh is releasing are too large and bulky for me. So for now the FA 20-35 will suite my needs just fine.

Thanks. And yes, they are big trees.

Not so big trees along Lake McDonald in Glacier NP:
