SMC Pentax K 135mm F2.5 Samples

Probably my all-time favorite lens for photographing people outdoors.

All photos below taken with a Pentax K-7

I bought this lens for concert and candid street photography, hoping it would be usable wide-open and therefore allowing use of Av mode. I haven't been disappointed! Only issues are CA which are hard to removed in photoshop, and bokeh colour fringing. But there are ways of dealing with these problems in PP, and the overall look of photos is great.

Stopped-down one click. I just love the rendering of this lens for close-ups.

Cheers,

I wonder why no one have posted yet photos taken outdoors at dull weather, because this lens works best when cloudy: the colors are just gorgeous.
Here are some photos taken with it (they are not mine):

The last two photos in my initial post were on cold, overcast days (something we have no shortage of in Seattle ).

Here's another:

It`s probably my #2 most used lens, only beaten by the FA43Ltd.
I use it both for portrait work as well as landscapes and artsy pictures.

Don`t normally shoot wide open, but if I`d choose one lens to shoot with wide open, this would be it...

Anyways, here are some recent samples from my K10/20d:

Having just purchased this lens from a fellow PF member, I wonder: How do you get the pictures so sharp? The first thing I noticed was how hard it was to keep the lens steady enough for a sharp shot.

I've never had a problem with it, mostly because so many of the pictures I've taken have been outdoors with ample light. Looking at the EXIF info, an exposure around 1/160 (down to 1/90) with an ISO from 200 to 400 seems to be working well. This is on a K-7 but man am I tempted to grab one of those holiday deals for an upgrade.
