SMC Pentax- A Zoom 1:4 70-210mm Macro samples

I like this lens. The only downside really is the weight. Its definitely not light but it takes very clear, crisp photos. I dont have zoom creep issues that some have but my lens is in very good, almost new condition. The way it focuses will eventually lead to creep as you use it more but a band will hold it.

Not sure if your question was written in the wrong spot because this lens is a zoom lens, not prime. I do have a few primes though.

I've mentioned this before in these forums and I'll mention it again: this is perhaps the most under-rated zoom lens in the entire Pentax lineup, but it's one of my favorites. (For the record, these JPG images do no justice to the detail and sharpness of the original files.)

I love this lens, it is one of my favorites.
But I have to agree with you- it weighs a TON!

"Under-rated"?.....I agree with you....I used one with my LX, primarily for motorsport....where it was ideal.
And they can now be bought very cheaply.
Cheers, Pickles.

It is heavy but stopped at 8+, gets pretty sharp.

I have one. Heavy little lens, but yes, have always found it sharp.

Heavy? Balances perfectly on the MZ-S with grip. Wonderful Contax Zeiss grade mechanics as well. I was going to bin it, I'm glad that I threw some film at it instead.

I just picked one up on EvilBay for cheap. It has a stellar reputation.
