Thanks, guys. This lens is really fun to use. It's definitly not the sharpest lens in my collection and it has some other flaws, but the FOV is just amazing. I'm very excited to use it on film.

Same Lens?

I have a Vivitar 17 mm M42 lens, see photos below. Is it the same as yours?

Despite the lens hood mine looks very similar to your lens. Is it an integrated lens hood or a srew-on? From what I know Tokina produced this lens for various lens mounts. The wiki page on Vivitar states that there's just one manual 17 mm prime in the Vivitar line-up. So, I'm pretty sure it's the same lens with a different mount.

On mine the lens hood is integrated, and the filter thread is 72 mm.

The one reviewed here,

Vivitar 17mm F3.5 MC Wide-Angle Lens Reviews - Vivitar Lenses - Pentax Lens Review Database

has a 67 mm filter thread.

It is a lens I enjoy using again and again. I've owned it since my film Spotmatic days.
