I had heard of this lens for some time. It does appear special from this and a few other images you posted. I would like to see it under a variety of conditions to appreciate how it is different than conventional Takumars.

No problem, Tim! Unfortunately the light is quite flat at the moment so I do not have much incentive to go out with the lens.

It appears to have a very natural color rendering and of course it does not fringe at all in even the most demanding conditions (on the second I had a positive exposure compensation applied to show how well it copes with the shiny stuff against a strong overcast sky).

Thanks. There is something very different in that aesthetic. It would seem designed to produce 'pictures of record' or for scientific purposes. So interesting to see the effect of something designed with different technical objectives.

Thanks Tim! Interestingly I think that this lens has darker midtones than my other "normal" lenses (lenses with glass instead of quartz and fluorite like the Ultra-Achromatic-Takumar). I'm not sure if it's the weather or if it's the lens... I need more experience handling it.
