Nice ...

Bonjour,

How do you like this lens ... I ask because the user reviews of PF are not that great ... a worthwhile lens to have?

Merci et salut, John le "Brown" Baudet du Poitou

Hi,

I posted a review at there too...now. It really depends. I suppose I'd buy A 35-70 since it's supposed to be better and has Auto aperture. I just happen to own this, it is not crazy good, but it is not totally bad either. Have to shoot above f 4 to get rid of shine on images and better sharpness. Fooling around with SR is another thing(since you have to change it when change focal, like from 40->70, mine tip is just fast turn of cam, turn it on and change SR focal), but if not affraid of this...and have good eyes for focusing? Then yes. I think it is above average (8 -) and zoom-range is quite good. Would like it to begin from 35, but...

Bonsoir repaap,

Thanks for your input about your M lens ... I have a M 75-150 f4, and I do the same thing for the SR ... off/on ... or sometimes set it in the middle @100 ... or sometimes just too lazy and do no changes.

I was looking at an A 35-70, too, but it would be an extra that I really do not need since I have a good Tamron Adaptall-2 "44A" (28-70 f3.5-4.5) that I use with a PK/A mount, thus it acts like a Pentax A lens ... and still, as you pointed out, one does need a good set of eyes.

Thanks again ... merci encore, John le Frog

You are welcome, I think that this lens can surprise one seeking this kind a experiment.

If I come across one at a reasonable price, I might give it a try ... I like to experiment and I have LBA, too! , J
