It is outstanding lens, sharp enough wide open, perfect in direct sunlight, here are some samples with Pentax K-3:

Sigma 100-300 APO f4

Well I finally managed to buy a Sigma 100-300 f4, after several months of trying.
Here is a couple of shots.
First is 300 wide open, the second is wide open with the sigma 1.4 tele converter. I think I am going to be happy
shooting my girls playing soccer this summer !!! When ever the snow decides to leave !

Nice. AF works also with the 1.4 Sigma TC in?

Sure. It's just screw drive AF and the effective aperture is f/5.6, so no problem for the camera.

Then SIGMA 100-300 f/4 and his TC are a terrific combo!

Hi Andrea K
I didn't notice any difference with the converter on.
Did notice the weight of this lens ! The monopod will be

From the Adelaide University flute symposium, Michael Cox - Principal flute of the BBC orchestra:

Pentax K5IIs - Sigma 100-300mm f/4 APO EX DG @ 220mm 1/60th f/5.6 ISO 3200

With steady hands, the Sigma 100-300mm f/4 truly excels at concert photography.

I just picked up a really nice Sig 100-300 F4 from a forum member (thanks Sergy!) Literally have had less than 24 hours so haven't played too much yet, but based on what I have shot I really like this lens. Its heavy but barely hand holdable..Thats how these shots were done. It was a pretty cloudy and windy day at the shore and I really should have used a tripod, but if it shoots this good in adverse conditions, I'm going to love it in better ones.

K3 works well with this lens though I did end up bumping up the AF +4

pp in darktable with slight sharpening, slight saturation increase, some are cropped. minimal processing for most.

Fantastic lens.

Too bad Sigma threw the towel in terms of supporting K-mount. However, this particular lens had been discontinued a long time ago anyhow.
