All, attaching a couple sample 18-135 shots by me. Enjoy
Some very nice action pictures. The more results I see from the 18-135 the more impressed I am with this versatile lens. I've had one for a couple of months and it's become a regular ....attachment ...to my K=5.

lesmore, I have exactly the same feeling! The more I am using 18-135 the better opinion I have. It all started a couple months ago. I have read so many negative comments: not sharp, slow, too expensive and other blah blah blah. But I decided to give it a try. And you know what? I am not sure what is wrong with me but to me this lens is outstanding! I don't care it is poor quality, not sharp and slow as long as it gives me pictures and colors I love!

Some samples I shot:

Full size shot at 18mm and F4, resolves ridiculously well in the center on my k-3:

This lens always performs well for me and is versatile. This was taken at 24mm, a range where it is particularly good.

Fall photos with the Pentax DA 18-135. A good walkaround lens for daylight.

DA 18-135 on K5-II

I normally like to shoot with my primes, but the 18-135 has more than proven itself to me. Here's a few examples spread across different apertures and focal lengths.

f11 18mm 400 ISO

f5.6 135mm 560 ISO

f8 40mm 100 ISO

f8 48mm 200 ISO

Need to bring this thread back to life. It isn't superseded by the "show us what it can do" thread, which is more like a lens club. This is for a selection of examples that show particular qualities of the lens (which can be good or bad).

This is to illustrate resolution, particularly in the centre

53mm f9 (cropped)

68mm f4.5

135mm f5.6

135mm f8

There are primes (and probably some zooms with "star" quality) that handle flare better than this lens, but there are ways to avoid it.

First, an example where there is some flare, but manageable:

Second, underexposing and then boosting the shadows in post-processing (along with using the atmosphere to moderate the sunlight):

Third, keeping the sun just outside the frame (what you do see is a result of mist and fluff from flowering trees reflecting sunlight):

Taking up the theme of good flare-resistance raised by @RGlasel. Not like the DA 15 Ltd, but quite good.

Great photos, the 18-135 is a great choice for an all-around lens.

Truly my favorite Pentax "walk around" zoom ever.

Sun just out of the frame. K3 ƒ/5.6 135.0 mm 1/1000th ISO 100

Sharp! K3 ƒ/5.6 28.0 mm 1/100th ISO 100 -3.30EV
