I know this is an old thread, Pics are awesome. I've had a 70-200 f2.8 Canon. Loved the lens for shooting stage rehearsals. Just parted with all the Canon gear for a K-3. While looking for a small list of lenses to fill in what I have for Pentax, I ran across this one for $600. I always check here for reviews and ratings. Glad I did before this lens was "lost". Thanks for the review and shots!

Wow never knew this lens even existed ! Seems a little warmer than the 50-135 almost as if it had a warming filter on the front lens which is good. Thanks for sharing.

There is a 50-150 on eekBay if you think $549 is reasonable. It looks like a fine addition to a Sigma lineup.

Some recent examples

Some points to note, in photo 2 I mis-place the focus point onto the second carriage rather than the loco, and in the last image there is some puple fringing round the ripples in the puddle which I haven't corrected enough! Probably the weakest poiitn of the lens, shot straight into bright light at near wide open and you get some CA

I've bought my copy a few month ago from a forum member ... an excellent lens, my copy needed minor AF adjustment on my K5.

Please click for a larger version.

A view from the cricket match

AS this is probably my favourite lens and rarely gets a mention I'll keep this thread going. A couple of pics from a cricket match,

Hmmm...cricket, and an elegant antique greenhouse. Nothing could go wrong there!

Fortunately the greenhouse is far enough away to remain safe from well hit cricket balls.

A few shots from our vacation to the Outer Banks last month. Love the 50-150!

The Sigma 50-150 was my go-to for shooting high school basketball. It's the perfect length for shooting from the floor and the fast focus delivers--even in dim gyms.

These were taken with a K-5IIs in our home gym which was pretty well lit. The first f3.2, 1/800, ISO 8000 and those settings are pretty typical for that gym. ISO went way up (and I often dialed the other values down) in less well lit venues.
