SMC Pentax-F 100mm F2.8 Macro

I found a thread for FA 100mm but not F 100mm f2.8. I know this lens is rare, but many PF members own this lens version I guess.

Nice Work!

Hello Hiep2503, Great macro shots!
You're right, I can't recall seeing many photos shot with the F, just the FA and DA.
Photos # 1 and # 5 have that beautiful pastel wash of background blur, I've discovered that it's a combination of f-stop, not too many contrasting colors or sharp edges behind the subject and subject-to-background distance.
Sometimes I deliberately choose an angle that provides a darker background, and hopefully a few feet away. This seems to "Pop" out the subject better, like #5.
Was it an overcast day when you took these? The colors have a soft, muted feel, just wondering if it was the light or the lens rendering. Either way, it's very dreamy and lends a good effect.
# 6 looks razor-sharp, a Macro lens is great for short tele shots. Again, you have that relaxed and calm feeling to the image.
I started (Macro) with a Pentax M 100mm f/4.0 Macro and recently bought a PK Bokina. But I have a ways to go until I get work this good!

You have good eyes. Yes, it was about raining on that day. These shots are just to test the lens which I received from an ebay seller on that afternoon. I am totally satisfied with its performance.

I also own Pentax M 100mm f4, which I sold before I bought this lens. I found that I could get some reasonable good shots with Pentax M 100mm lens only if I use f value about 11-16 and coupled my K-5 with flash!!!

100mm Lens - some samples

I recently got this lens and am love with it. Great colors and very sharp even wide open. Not the best Macro samples but best I could.

Other random shots
