Pentax Sample Photo Search Engine

We've recently added a sample photo search engine to the site which lets you search every single photo posted on PF, with the exception of those hosted on external sites. This system lets you each by lens and/or camera, and you can even filter based on criteria such as ISO or shutter speed.

There's only one catch: it only works for AF lenses, hence the lens sample photo archive forum will be sticking around

Access the search engine here:
Lens/Camera Sample Photo Search Engine - PentaxForums.com

Here is an example of a search for all photos taken with the K-5 & 10-17mm Fisheye at ISO 1600:
Smc PENTAX-DA FISH-EYE 10-17mm F3.5-4.5 ED[IF] | PENTAX K-5 | Lens/Camera Sample Photo Search Engine - PentaxForums.com

By attaching sample photos in this forum, the search engine's database will grow and everyone will be able to appreciate your contributions!

I am assuming that you have this set up to search exif data for each posted shot, and not what may have been written in the post.

this potentially has a few issues:

- it excludes all legacy lenses, because there is no exif,
- it will make an absolute hash of some third party lenses, because they do not necessarily report their correct model etc to the camera
- obviously all film shots are out.

WHile it is great for current gear, I think we still need the sample image archive to help people with the oddball stuff

I suppose that makes the K/M portion of the database quite chunky as a result of the categorisation, but it's still a very good idea, and the search works seamlessly. Thanks Adam.
