smc PENTAX-DA* 200mm f/2.8

I am a bit surprised that there aren't more sample images from this lens. Well, here are my humble contributions to pay tribute to this magnificent piece of optics.

Some old reposts taken with the 200.

First is eventual world champion Tony Martin on his way to the gold medal. f/3.5 I believe. Slight crop.

Next is a zoo shot taken through the glass. Don't remember the aperture. Uncropped.

Regards,
--Anders.

Biggest problem with this lens is the purple fringing, which can be fiercesome. But fortunately, it is easily fixable with a click in LIghtroom 4/5.

Thanks. It is a great lens if you don't need extra length. My wife had rented a Sigma 70-200 f2.8, thinking that maybe she would like that better, due to extra flexibility, but the additional size/weight was considerable and the DA *200 is sharper wide open. Hardest thing is making sure you are steady enough when you are shooting.

A couple of others...

Hi guys, I love this lens, I hope that Pentax-Ricoh will release soon DA* 135 or 150 fast prime lens to fill the gap between 100 and 200.
