I get lots of ill will and negative response when I criticize so I'll respond to this post instead because it's done right. If one clicks on one of the above images and then right clicks and chooses "original", you can see the original photo at its full native 16 mp enlargement ("100% crop"). In Photoshop, this is called "Actual Pixels". Using Flickr as done here is a good way to do it. The other way to do it is to upload 2 images to your forum post, one full frame and the other a relevant small portion showing the detail at 100%. Almost nobody does that on many of the photo forums. Most photos which are posted show the full image at 800-1000 pixels along the longest side and that's it. This is adequate to judge composition, exposure, color, etc but not sharpness. If you are a pro stock shooter and upload to an agency, you can bet that the evaluator will most certainly examine the image at 100% and it had better be tack sharp. The general rule is that the 100 % crop should appear, at least at first glance, mostly as sharp as the full frame image displayed at about 800-1000 pixels. The above images generally make the grade nicely. Good job.

Thanks for the compliment, both on the photos and the method of posting!

I meant to add the f-stop range to the thread title but I'm unable to edit it. If a mod sees this post, please update! Thank you.

I suppose I'll keep posting samples since no one else is posting for this lens!

Great pictures sumx4182!

I'm going to upgrade my DA 18-250 to the Sigma when I get a chance.

really lovely pictures! I'm very tempted to add this lens. I like my DA 18-135 but sometimes its reach is not enough (plus image quality past 100mm isn't super great) and I love my DA 55-300 but it's annoying that I have to switch lenses to get a wide angle shot. So voila, Sigma 18-250! I can buy one brand-new for $300 and my mouse is just itching to click the "order" button...

Gorgeous shots!

I am starting to seriously consider unloading my sigma 17-70 OS and DA 55-300 and picking this lens up. It would definitely lighten up my camera bag a good bit!

I finally pulled the trigger on my own 18-250! From a financial perspective, this isn't the best time to get new gear (I'm going through a divorce), but I simply couldn't pass it up while it's still $349. I chose 1-day shipping so it should be in my hands tomorrow. I'm on vacation through next week, so this will give me plenty of time to get to play with it.

I hope you like it. I love mine. So much so that I sold my 18-55 DA AL II. I don't care about the extra weight. When I'm walking around and have no idea what I'll be shooting, the combination of the focal versatility, the silent autofocus, and the fact that the aperture basically matches the 18-55 throughout matching range means that the 18-55 never went out anymore. It was all 18-250, all the time.

I've had this lens for a while and have put it through it's paces. I like it! I like it so much that my Sigma 17-70 hasn't seen any action to speak of since the 18-250 arrived.

Here are a few examples:
