What makes the lens different than this one?

Basically the original lens was made by Tomioka in M42. This is a highly sought after collectors lens since it was produced in limited quantity. The details can be read in this website: www.tomioka.de - Index

The Reveunon 55mm f1.2 is made by and optically exactly the same design as the Cosina and Vivitar brand but in K-mount. I believe its the same internal lens formula as the original Tomioka in M42 but differ in the lens coating and of course the physical form. The Cosina I believe should be better in construction quality since it was designed with an aid of a computer. But the original is so much sought after because of how the lens coating affects the rendering of the images. Well, this is what I have read from numerous forum threads when hunting one for the Cosina version which I eventually won on Ebay for $300 last year - brand new.

Sample from the Cosina 55mm f1.2 - K-x, ISO 3200, f2:
